I built an alarm app for long-distance couples that lets you wake up to your partner’s voice
My girlfriend and I are in a long-distance relationship, and one thing I realized is:
the hardest part isn’t texting less.
It’s waking up alone every morning.
So I started building a simple alarm app where your partner’s voice becomes your alarm.
Instead of hearing some random ringtone at 7AM, you wake up to:
“baby wake up”
“good luck on your meeting today”
“don’t skip breakfast again”
“I’ll call you tonight”
The idea sounds small, but emotionally it feels very different from a normal alarm.
A few things I’m building into it right now:
* voice message alarms
* couple pairing
* one-tap snooze/reply
* offline alarm reliability (works even in airplane mode)
* full-screen wake-up UI
* soft style design instead of loud aggressive alarms
I originally built it just for us because we kept missing each other’s mornings due to time zones.
Now I’m wondering if other long-distance couples would actually use something like this too.
Would this make your mornings feel less lonely, or is this just a niche idea in my head?
