Hi all! I'm a returning Filipino from the US trying to figure out if I should wait for Term 2 admissions or pursue other options. I've been having trouble getting answers since the OAS is impossible to reach.
SOME CONTEXT: I missed the Term 1 special admissions deadline because I was overseas dealing with a hectic situation on top of moving logistics. I wasn't sure how admissions processes worked in the Philippines, and I wanted to go through the international credentials track, but couldn't find the specific application documents I needed on their main website. The admissions office never responded to my emails. (To be fair, I only followed up once - I didn’t want to potentially spam their inbox, and I thought maybe it was normal to wait weeks for a response.)
I also tried calling multiple times to no avail. One time, someone picked up and immediately hung up on me. After arriving in the PH, I even visited campus twice, but the OAS was either closed or not receiving students/applicants. Both times I was redirected to the Enrollment Services Hub. At first I was told I could wait for Term 2 admissions in October… BUT when I visited a second time to confirm, the staff seemed a bit uncertain whether Term 2 admissions would even open… She kept redirecting me to either Term 3 or Term 1 of the next school year entirely.
Just to be clear: I’m not blaming the admissions office for me missing the Term 1 deadline - that’s my fault. I’d hastily assumed that they had a different period open for international applicants (another school I’d reached out to had this policy.)
Anyway, to finally get to the point, I’m wondering if they typically open freshman admissions for Term 2. I’m fine with waiting if the timeline is certain, but if it’s not, I’ll likely go with my other option since I’ve already taken a gap year. (Interested in ECE or CompE btw.)
Thank you for reading this far if you have~! Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
