I currently have an HP Pavilion with i7 7th Gen & GTX 1050 4GB. What can it still handle?

I currently own an HP Pavilion laptop with these specs:
CPU: Intel Core i7 7th Gen
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1050 (4GB VRAM)
RAM: 8GB
I’m using it for daily tasks, light coding, and some casual gaming. For anyone who has used a similar setup recently, what are the limits of this machine today? Also, would adding another 8GB RAM make a noticeable difference? Thanks!
