New jersey day
Better shade of red and the white works well, DHL suits much better than mustard.

Better shade of red and the white works well, DHL suits much better than mustard.
Just seen a clip of the team training at thurles and looks to be Oli in the background holding a camera on the far side of a maul.
Is he sticking around to do some coaching? He had to pickup the front row skills much later in his career which to me could translate across as a decent scrum coach potentially.
Thoughts?
Casey getting a heap of criticism in the match thread and on the main sub.
I see his clearance kicks get great distance on tight angles he puts his body on the line tackling when he is always the smaller man.
Munster have the best ruck speed in the league so he is quick out of the ruck.
Is it my red tinted goggles is Doak really the better option?
I wonder how much that’s costing us keeping him on the books.
I was going to write a short blurb for each of the players but the ratings on rugbypass cover much more information. Ratings are out of ten.
Joe Finn – 7.5
Twelve successful tackles – one of which saved Ireland from conceding a try midway through the first half – from Joe Finn, with the lock also bullying the USA opposition in the lineout, where he managed to intercept two throws.
Alex Lautsou – 7
Performed well off the back of the scrum but never had the opportunity to showcase what he could as a carrier, ultimately ending up among the Irish forwards with the fewest direct involvements in attack.
Christopher Barrett – 7
Made the right calls to help Ireland land a 73-22 win, knitting a well-balanced string of passes that injected good energy and dynamism into his side’s attacking platform. Three assists and a stunning solo try.
Charlie O’Shea – 9.5
A hat-trick in under 30 minutes and an outing that completely shattered the USA’s attempts to secure their try-area. The Irish fly-half’s acceleration, pace and clinicality gave depth to Ireland’s attacking strategy, as shown by the 181 metres carried, six line breaks, ten defenders beaten and involvement in 80 per cent of his side’s finishes.
Rob Carney – 8
It wasn’t as dazzling as his centre pairing, but he still showed the skill to crack open the opposing defence with style and speed.
Jamie Conway – 7
Kept the scrum running and played his part in a solid defensive effort.
Jamie Conway behind the captain but will be happy if we see him at some stage.
I found myself laughing aloud to some of the stories, the references to BJ Botha and other Munster stalwarts were great.
I have already listened to it twice over two Munster legends retelling the journey from their point of view highly recommend listening.
I feel like I can finally let go of a breath I’ve been holding over nerves about Chris Barrett getting poached by the Leinster academy.
Sexton went to racing he was still selected for Ireland, unlike the RFU which have a binding agreement with prem rugby to only pick domestic players the IRFU can play the rules any way they please.
Is there a scenario where because it is a World Cup and Farrell wants James Lowe in the squad just to keep his options open he selects him anyway?
I wouldn’t have a problem with it Lowe gets his payday and Ireland can utilise him for the World Cup seems like the obvious decision.
Really enjoyed this episode Casey reminds me of POM with his pre game talk love how he singles out the individual players it’s a real comparison when you see Beirne at the end he’s just not as inspiring when he talks.
Could see Casey as club captain in the future famously Pete got it while still playing with Paulie to let him focus on Ireland a similar situation with Casey and Beirne maybe?
Really enjoy the behind the scenes stuff.

Last years intake and discussion regarding.
Even off the top of my head you’d be thinking all of Conway, Foley, Barrett, O’Leary, O’Shea, Carney should be getting in.
I’m not based in Munster so I’m sure there’s a few I’m missing that we need to get in?
Would like to see some Kerry representation other than JJ after Jack Daly was released and has moved to the western force
Final home team sheet of the season
Bone Collector, DTM and Smillo in front row
Darragh and Tuna in locks
Prendo, Moose and Jansen on back row
Ben and Josh at half back
Bundee and Harry at the centre
All the S men, Shayne, Shane and Sam on the back three
EDB, Gerry and Finlay on replacement front row
Joe at replacement lock for his final match at home
Paul at replacement back row
Matthew at replacement 9 for his final home match
Carnaldo at 22 for his last ever home match 😭😢🥺
Seán Naughton as utility replacement
We fielded a fairly mixed side last time around which I’d forgotten, Sam Gilbert and Bundee are two that will start on Saturday that we haven’t faced.
Treacy and Forde are both out with Heffernan touch and go.
Our full strength side should be a much tougher proposition for them.
Casey Crowley Edogbo Ahern Kendellen all difference makers for me really interested to see the team we put out.
Who do we want to see for the Connacht game and what kind of bench split would you expect? I have a few thoughts below.
Dan Kelly to start with Farrell out (fairly obvious)
Alalatoa to start Ryan on the bench if Jager is out.
Ben O’Connor to the wing with Smith, I think Dalys best position is fullback and would leave him there
I can see Sean O’Brien come onto the bench to cover centre/wing
Is there a place for a 5-3 with JJ on the bench, I imagine Crowley plays 80 if fit so would that be a waste?
I don’t have faith in Abraham’s or Kilgallen in a game of this importance given the form showed this season.
Thoughts welcome
