Vivec city is a stupid vanity project and I love it for it.

I love when games use friction to convey story, especially in older games. Vivec city is exactly what I expected a egomaniacal new god like Vivec would come up with after naming it after themselves.

Impossible to expand, cramped, confusing to navigate, difficult to build, terrible to live in, and always hailed as a "marvel" of genius engineering.

It's exactly like those stupid megaprojects like the Line. Completely goes against all logic of civil engineering and city planning in the pursuit of aesthetics.

When I first saw it in the game, I legitimately laughed. Like of course it would be as stupid and spectacular as this.

Oh sure, the locals defend it. "It's only confusing to navigate for foreigners. Vivec is a visionary."

I love this! Like I can learn to dislike the Tribunal from the lore. But I actively despise them each time I get lost in their stupid rat maze of a glorified sewer network ziggurat.
