5 year old symptoms stomach bug
My 5 year old had a stomach bug last week and I’m wondering if this lingering vomiting is normal or if anyone else has experienced this.
Last Wednesday night she started throwing up around 10 PM and vomited about 6 times until around 4-5 AM. Thursday she had a fever and was very tired/on and off laying down all day. By Friday she was already much better and her appetite slowly started coming back. Saturday and Sunday she seemed almost completely normal.
Then Monday she had chocolate milk, fries, frozen yogurt, was jumping around on the couch, and threw everything up that night. Immediately after she was acting fine again. Tuesday and Wednesday she was totally normal. Then today at school she randomly threw up again after only having a hash brown and water.
She still has a lingering runny nose too. Her pediatrician checked her today (ears, throat, temp, etc.) and said everything looks fine and that it’s probably lingering from the virus. He prescribed Zofran just in case.
Has anyone else had a stomach bug linger like this with random isolated vomiting days? It’s making me anxious because it’s been over a week now but in between she acts completely normal and energetic.
