Moza R9 upgrade path: Asetek Forte + Formula Pro vs Moza R21 Ultra + extra wheels?
I just got some tax return money and I’m feeling ready to make some questionable financial decisions.
Current setup:
Moza R9
Moza KS wheel
Moza CRP2 pedals
I mostly race in iRacing, probably around 12+ hours per week, but I also enjoy more casual/stress-free driving in AC Evo / BeamNG / free roam-style stuff. I’m debating between two upgrade paths:
Option 1: Move to Asetek
Asetek Forte wheelbase — around $949
Asetek Forte Formula Pro wheel — around $649
Plus handles/accessories
Total would be around $1,600+
The reason I’m tempted is that I really love the Forte Formula Pro wheel, and I’m assuming the Forte base would be a pretty noticeable upgrade from my Moza R9 in terms of detail, smoothness, and overall FFB quality.
Option 2: Stay with Moza
Moza R21 Ultra — around $699
Moza KS Pro — around $329
Moza Lamborghini Revuelto wheel — around $399
Total would be around $1,377
This route gives me a stronger base and two wheels: one for serious iRacing, and one for casual driving/road cars. I also already have Moza pedals and ecosystem stuff, so it would be simpler.
My question:
If you were in my place, would you move to Asetek for the higher-end feel and the Forte Formula Pro wheel, or stay in the Moza ecosystem and get more hardware for the money?
For those who have used both Moza and Asetek, is the Asetek quality/FFB feel enough of an upgrade to justify leaving Moza? Or would the R21 Ultra + KS Pro + Revuelto wheel be the smarter and more fun setup overall?
I’m not trying to go full pro, but I do race seriously enough that I care about FFB detail, consistency, and long-term enjoyment. At the same time, I also want something fun for casual driving, not just pure GT/formula racing.
Would love real ownership feedback, thanks for reading the whole thing :)
