If you are installing an aftermarket backup camera:

If you are retaining the factory (OEM) backup camera:

The factory backup camera is connected via the yellow RCA male plug on the power harness, which should be plugged into the rear camera video input on the head unit.

Please note that the power harness includes two yellow RCA male plugs. Try connecting each one to determine which is the correct input for your vehicle’s factory camera.

If the issue persists:

No Reverse Camera Image? 10-Min Troubleshooting Guide

  1. Check if your head unit switches to reverse mode when you shift into reverse gear, even without camera video feed.

If it doesn’t switch over, verify the reverse trigger wire is properly connected to the camera trigger lead.

Skip this step if you’re using a direct plug-and-play OEM fit unit.

If wired correctly but still no mode switch, test if the camera trigger wire gets a steady 12V DC when in reverse.

If 12V is present but no reverse mode, just enable the reverse input option in factory settings.

  1. If the head unit switches to reverse mode but shows no video,

double-check the camera video output is securely plugged into the head unit’s reverse video input port.

Also confirm the camera power wires are correctly connected to your reverse light positive and negative terminals.

  1. Test your reverse camera with the engine turned off first.

If the image works fine with the engine off but glitches or cuts out once you start the engine,

it’s caused by unstable voltage to the camera.

Install a voltage stabilizer relay on the camera wiring harness, and this issue will be fixed for good.

Car Stereo Bluetooth Mic Troubleshooting Guide

  • Double-check your audio output and ensure it is set to your car Bluetooth device during Bluetooth calls.
  • Make sure the built-in MIC hole on the car head unit is not blocked by dust, dirt or any debris, which may cause Bluetooth mic audio issues.
  • Plug in the external microphone that comes with your Eonon head unit, then test Bluetooth calling again to check if the sound works normally.
  • Perform a full factory reset on your car stereo head unit, restart your smartphone, then unpair and re-pair the Bluetooth connection to fix Bluetooth pairing and call glitches.
  • If you have another spare phone available, test Bluetooth calls with it to rule out mobile phone compatibility problems.

Reverse camera glitch when start the engine

Need some help with reverse camera.

It works totally fine when the engine’s off, but as soon as I fire up the engine, the camera feed glitches out, messes up, or even goes completely black.

Already double-checked I’m definitely in reverse mode, so that’s not the problem.

Here’s the possible cause and fix:

This issue is usually caused by unstable voltage to the reverse camera after starting the engine.

You can easily fix it by installing a voltage stabilization relay on the camera wiring harness.

Have installed E46A12S in my car.

I want to install a backup camera but refuse to drill holes in the rear door handle. I’ve seen license plate light mount cameras that come with power leads and a yellow RCA plug.

Will this camera work with the Eonon E46A12S?

Do I need a special harness adapter to convert the yellow RCA connection for the Eonon head unit?

Here's the answer:

Eonon head unit is equipped with an RCA port for reverse video input. If your license plate light camera also features an RCA connector, it is theoretically compatible with our unit.

This stereo supports reverse cameras with RCA interface, and compatible video signals are listed below:

Installed the Eonon E39X6S head unit, but steering wheel buttons won’t function.

Here's The Solution:

  1. Press the RST button to reset the head unit once.

  2. Update the head unit software:

  3. Open the Updater APP to update the system software.

  4. Update the MCU software by following the instructions here:

Head Unit: VWA13

How to disable reverse mode? Does the unit support disabling the reverse mode via system settings?

A13/X6/X7 series units do not support to disable the reverse mode through the system settings.

If you need to disable the reverse mode, please refer to the wiring diagram on the unit to find the Reverse Trigger wire and cut it.

Then the unit will not switch to reverse mode.

After turning on the car's turn signal, the screen turns black and shows no signal.

Please turn off the setting options below.

Car Info APP-->Version-->My Car-->Setting-->Fullview sight-->Turn right enter camera

My car has both front and rear parking sensors, but the unit only displays the front sensors.

Please enable both front and rear radar displays by following these steps:

Car Info APP-->Version-->My Car-->Setting-->Drive safe-->Rear radar/Front radar

Backup camera works in ACC mode,but not when engine starts.

If the reverse image works normally without starting the engine but fails once the engine is running，

it is likely due to unstable voltage to the backup camera when the engine is started.

Please connect the red trigger wire of the backup camera directly to the 12V camera power supply wire on the back of the head unit.

This ensures the camera gets power directly from the head unit.

The video image from the backup camera is flipped horizontally. How can I enable the mirror flip?

*These settings only apply when using an Eonon backup camera.
