Can’t get steering wheel controls to learn

>I can’t get my steering‑wheel buttons to learn. When I go into the steering‑wheel key learning menu and hit “Start Program”, it tells me to press buttons on the steering wheel. But nothing happens at all when I press any of the buttons; the unit won’t pick up any input.

Head Unit: VWX7A

  1. Try resetting the head unit first.

  2. Perform factory data reset and test again.

  3. Verify the Canbus wiring and Canbus option settings. Ensure the 8‑PIN cable is connected to the head unit (as noted in the dedicated user manual). Re‑select the correct protocol — no modification needed, just reselection.

Reference link: https://www.eononsupport.com/SearchDetail.html?SupportId=781

  1. Unplug and re‑plug the Canbus decoder box, then test.

  2. If steering‑wheel controls still fail to work: please send us screenshots of version info shown in the Carinfo App, head‑unit software version, and full wiring photos of the unit for further analysis and recommendations. Thank you.

Can’t Enter Home Menu After MCU Upgrade

>My head unit stopped working properly all of a sudden. After the MCU upgrade, I can’t get into the home menu at all.

Head Unit: UA12TS

Please follow the steps shown in the attached video: tap the specified button. Once redirected to the next page, long-press the display screen on all 5 devices to recalibrate the touch keys.

If the issue persists, kindly restore the system via the steps below. You may refer to this video: https://youtu.be/39Lx428G804

  1. Keep the main unit powered on, then press and hold the RST reset button without releasing it.

  2. Hold the reset button for roughly 20 seconds. Release the RST button only after the indicator light flashes rapidly three times for the second time; the device will boot into the system restore & upgrade interface afterward.

3.Tap the screen briefly to navigate options, and long-press to confirm. Select Wipe data/factory reset to restore factory settings.

4.Once restoration finishes, choose Reboot system now to restart the device.

  1. If the above operations fail to resolve the problem, download the firmware to update the main unit and repeat the preceding steps. Replace the option Wipe data/factory reset with Apply update from Sd card or USB instead, and complete the following preparations first:

a. Download the firmware upgrade file.

b. Format your USB flash drive to FAT32 file system.

c. Copy the downloaded compressed file directly to the root directory of the formatted USB drive — do not unzip the file.

d. Plug the USB drive into the USB port of the main unit.

How To Make Android Auto Automatically Connect After Head Unit Restart

>I need to re-pair every time the head unit powers on to get Android Auto working. Is there any setting I can adjust so the unit automatically connects with my phone after startup?

Head Unit: X3

Normally, if connected before the head unit shuts down, it will auto-reconnect upon restart.

  1. Reset the head unit.

  2. Restore the head unit to factory settings.

  3. Turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your phone.

  4. Verify vehicle battery voltage remains stable at 12V; unstable voltage causes memory loss.

  5. If unresolved, please provide the head unit firmware version, phone Android Auto version and fault video to customer support for further investigation. https://www.eononsupport.com/ContactUs.html

V0056 No ECU Communication, OBD Port Functional

>My V0056 won’t connect to the ECU. I’ve already checked my OBD II port, everything works fine and it can communicate with the ECU using other scanners. What possible causes could lead to this issue?

Head Unit: GMX6S-PRO

  1. Please follow the instructions in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQF-uCJNfOQ

  1. First download and install the Torque APP on your phone. Next, turn on phone’s Bluetooth, search for and pair with your OBD device. Once the connection is established, go back to the Torque APP to proceed with operations.

  2. If phone fails to connect to V0056, we recommend replacing the V0056 device. If the connection succeeds but the ECU data still cannot be read, this means vehicle’s OBD port does not grant access to ECU data, and this issue cannot be resolved.

No Video Feed After A0125 Installation

Wiring Guide for Factory Backup Camera and New CarPlay

>How do I wire my factory backup camera to this head unit?

Head Unit: DGRMX6

Please confirm whether your original OEM rearview camera displays images via the car rearview mirror monitor or the factory radio screen:

  1. If it originally shows on the rearview mirror: The camera image will still appear on the mirror instead of our unit.

  2. If it originally shows on the factory radio:

- Directly plug the RCA connector of the main unit power cord into the rear camera video input port of the main unit. No extra adapter is needed; refer to the attached diagram for reference.

CarPlay Head Unit Automatically Reboot

The head unit I bought automatically reboots roughly every 40 seconds. I’ve tried restoring factory settings and checking for available firmware updates, yet nothing fixes the recurring reboot issue.

Head Unit: GMSX7A

Please press the RST button first to reset the head unit, then proceed with the host software upgrade.

USB Upgrade Guide for X7 & X7A

  1. Firmware Download

Firmware version: X7&X7A\_20260403

Download link:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RUo8b73ZGnIGsFLgA0wMFhyrdDUm1DwY/view?usp=sharing

  1. Upgrade Steps

a. Unzip the downloaded compressed file. Copy the extracted files "update.zip" and "onekey_upgrade_config.ini" to the root folder of your USB flash drive.

b. Plug the USB drive into the head unit. The system will upgrade automatically. The upgrade succeeds once the home screen reloads, then remove the USB drive.

  1. Troubleshooting If Issues Remain

If the problem persists after the upgrade, please send us a video showing the malfunction. Meanwhile, check the items below:

a. Vehicle battery voltage: Unstable vehicle voltage causes abnormal operation of the head unit.

b. Wiring connection: Check for loose wires or poor contact. Reconnect the CANBUS adapter firmly.

Intermittent Disconnection & Reconnection Issue with Android Auto

Potentially Affected Models: A12S/A13/X6/X7/X7A/X6S Series

We are tracking reports of Android Auto crashing shortly after launch. Standard operations, such as map navigation or media control, may trigger a sudden disconnection, temporarily reverting the dashboard to the native vehicle infotainment system before reconnecting.

Initial analysis shows the issue stems from the latest version of Android Auto.

Temporary Solution

For a quick video guide, please refer to: https://youtube.com/shorts/cJ20_E9FX_Q

Step-by-Step Instructions (On Mobile):

  1. Disable Auto-Update for Android Auto

Google Play Store > Tap your Profile icon (top-right) > Manage apps & device (or "Manage apps") > Android Auto.

Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and uncheck Enable auto-update.

  1. Uninstall Android Auto Updates

Settings > Android Auto.

Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and tap Uninstall updates.

Note: The three-dot menu will disappear once the updates are successfully uninstalled.

  1. Downgrade/Install Android Auto (Must be lower than Version 17.2)

Google Play Store > Manage apps & device > Android Auto.

Crucial: Always double-check the target version before proceeding. Do NOT update if the available version is 17.2.

Display Stays Blank On Startup Post Battery Charge

>Charged the battery yesterday, ran an update this morning, and now my screen’s fully black on startup. Backup cam also doesn’t show anything when in reverse.

Head Unit: Eonon M3BLX6S

  1. Press the RST button once to reset the unit, then retry power-on.

  2. Reconnect the power harness and CANBUS cable. For universal units, only reattach the power harness.

  3. Inspect the unit’s built-in fuse:

If blown: Replace with a matching rated fuse.

If intact: Check the vehicle’s audio fuse in the car fuse box.

If you cannot locate the car fuse: Reinstall the factory OEM head unit and test startup. If the OEM unit also fails to power on, the vehicle fuse is blown and vehicle wiring inspection is require.

  1. For vehicle-specific dedicated units if the above steps fail:

- Disconnect the CANBUS harness, then short the CANBUS red wire and yellow wire together and attempt power-on. Refer to this tutorial video: https://youtu.be/wP9G3GTeOSI

- If the unit boots normally after shorting, replace the CANBUS adapter/harness.

  1. If the issue persists after all troubleshooting: Record a complete video showing the abnormal status and submit it for technical analysis. https://www.eononsupport.com/ContactUs.html
