APX A1 Compact Double Feed Issue
Finally got a chance to test out my APX A1 Compact today and was extremely disheartened. I experienced double feeding just about every other round in both magazines that came with the gun. Fired 100 rounds of S&B 124 grain with no improvements to the issue. Thought maybe it was the ammo so I threw some cheap Magtech 124 grain in there as well and had the same issue for another box of 50 before I stopped altogether.
Before anyone says "hehe you're limp wristing it", no, I was not limp wristing the gun. I had a very firm grip, am a large guy and can handle some recoil.
I have read that people run into this issue sometimes and that the recoil spring assembly may be very stiff. Most people say things like 1/25 rounds or 1 round a magazine. This is happening 1/2 rounds. Literally bang, jam, clear, bang, bang, jam, clear, bang, jam, etc. Disheartening to hear YouTube reviewers saying they reached out to Beretta customer service and were drilled with 50 questions and no solutions or willingness to take the gun on warranty and diagnose the problem there.
I understand people are saying there is a break in period but this gun is literally unusable. Are there any aftermarket recoil springs for the a1 compact available? Does anyone have a positive experience with Beretta warranty repair?
