Removing this part
Not sure if this even fits in this sub, but the part in question is on my car. So…
I want to remove the black part circled in red of the strut, put some kind of spring I saw online on the strut, and then put the black bit back on. The springs are to make the trunk open “automatically”. It feels like the black bit is glued on. How can I remove it and if it is indeed glued, what glue should I use to reattach it? If it is just friction, are there any tricks or things I should consider while applying force? Thanks in advance.
As a bonus: does anyone have experience with putting springs on this? And would you recommend it? If not: why not?
