I was gaming and my lap overheated then shutdown. since then my laptop only charges when i do this sequence:

1. shutdown laptop
2. press the external battery reset button in the bottom and hold it
3. while holding the reset button i have to plug in the charger
4. after plugging in the charger, release the reset button
5. then it charges

if the power goes off or if i turn off charging, i have to do this process again.
This is so annoying and i dont know whats wrong with my laptop. What went wrong and is this an issue which i can fix? software gitch?
