Added a WRC rally setup to my rig

I’ve been wanting to add a WRC rally style setup to my rig for a while but keep the look as minimal as possible without adding multiple brackets and extrusions everywhere. Throughout designing my rig I’ve always had the philosophy of keeping it neat and simple.

I’ve never had a dedicated sequential shift and handbrake, only paddle shift and an old TH8A h-pattern, so felt I needed to address that and went looking for inspiration.

I found lots of great info on rally setups from Race Beyond Matter, Dan Suzuki and The SimRacing Den, so shout out to these guys.

What I’ve gone for is the Pokornyi Engineering Rally Button box (self assembled) on a Sparco 300 wheel rim. I first tried a 330mm rim but it felt a little too big for this button box so went smaller with the 300mm which feels right with the PE Rally and great in ACR.

For the shifter, I bought SG Racing’s Combo RALLY PRO LC. They sent me the latest flat mounting plate which has made the installation super easy and clean with just a small length of profile needed for mounting to get the perfect distance and angle. The shifter feels so good to use and a load cell handbrake is an absolute must.

Both companies have been great to deal with and have answered my questions promptly.

Any questions or thoughts on the setup please ask.
