Taln

Tried to kill a God (as a mortal), became a Herald basically on a whim, bore 4000 years of torture alone, massacred tens of Fused with his bare fists (while being mentally incapacitated) and he didn't even hesitate to reforge the Oathpact knowing what it entailed. AND he FORGAVE the other Heralds for abandoning him??????? Am I forgetting anything else? WHO THE HELL IS THIS GUY. I have a feeling him and Kaladin are gonna quite like each other

Are the Alethi supposed to look Asian?

From the official art of Jezrien, Kelek, Ash, and Vedel, who are all said to be of what would be considered early Alethi/Vorin descent, it seems like there's an Asian appearance to their features. Obviously what we know as Asian doesn't exist in the cosmere, but I'm just curious as someone who is Asian. There's never much Asian representation in media so I wanted to know if this is a widely accepted idea. Or if anyone else thinks so :)

Just finished the series!!

Absolutely incredible. I've spent the last two months reading this incredible story and I'm so excited to finally take part in this community spoiler-free!

I could probably rival the author in page length if I truly wrote out all of my feelings on these books... so let me not.

Easily the best thing about the series is the characters. All of them have SO much depth and are all so well thought-out and unique. They truly all feel like real people. Kaladin's character arc in particular is phenomenal. I actually guessed he was going to become the replacement Herald for Jeziren the second Jezrien was killed, and I'm a dud at predicting things. He's the Herald of Therapy.

Poor Dalinar. I somewhat expected his death, but I get the feeling that isn't the last we'll see of him. Especially not with the vision Blackthorn having his memories. That's basically him, right?

The world building is so insane that the first two books almost feel like a different series than the last two. I'll most likely make a second post on my rankings of the books.

Anyways this series is so incredibly detailed and comprehensive. The characters make it feel so real. I loved every second of it and it will be a long 5 years until the 6th book, but understandably so. I'm surprised the author was able to release the first five within a few years of each other given the SCOPE of them. Yay!
