My first world map that i share!
Its called Vālbara (Baalvara).
I know it might seem a bit over-the-top, but the continent is supposed to be divided into five regions:
Centrilla (the one in the center) divided into two subregions by the Liro River.
Himmel Kampf (The western prairie).
Dry Wind (the desert of the east)
Frozen Death (the permafrost of the north)
qillay Pahda (the savanna of the northeast)
Sacred Field (the flowers of the south)
(These are provisional names and I can change them later).
Centrilla is surrounded by the Ring of the Lord mountain ranges. Divided into two subregions separated by the river:
Isabelia on the west side, and Frente Humedo on the east side.
Isbelia is composed of several regions:
1Between Rivers in the northern area, right at the foot of the "Diamond" waterfall (or my attempt at making one). being a humid and cloudy area. The 2Montes Sideros (which are that mountain range that runs thru the west) based on the mountains of mainland Greece. 3Basin of the Castles, further down from Between Rivers, based on the steppes of central Spain. 4Lands of the Wolf to the south, in the area bordering the deep southern forest and the rest of the north. Based on the windy prairies of Eastern Europe, only less fertile and emptier. 5 Silvian Forests, being, all that great forest below.
In Humid Front:
1 Cross Ridge, a dense, rocky, and green jungle, based on the Amazon rainforest and the jungles of Southeast Asia. 2 Delta la Unión, a delta turned swamp, based on the Ganges-Brahmaputra delta. 3 Highlands. They are based on the fertile lands of India, and although I used a combination of prairie and savanna, the savanna is just mega grain fields, while the prairie serves as a dense and fertile forest.
I would like the vibe of the north of Isabelia to be a great concentration of different parts of Romance, Hellenic, and Slavic Europe (with Germanic touches in the south). But in general based on Spain during the reign of Isabella the Catholic. While in the southern forest its vibe could be like pre-Columbian America, especially regarding Andean culture, Patagonia, and the Mapuche, just concentrated in a deciduous forest, AND WITH FUR. And in the humid front, it could have a vibe between Mesoamerica, the deep Amazon, and Southeast Asia.
Moving on to Himel Kampf, it is divided into two large regions: Nebel-Regen, and Himmelsland.
Nebel-Regen has no subregions, because, literally, all it is, is a muddy, flat, and endless grassland, full of fog and rain. Himmelsland, on the other hand (which is that part full of lakes and surrounded by hills, next to the coasts), is full of plateaus... or rather, my attempt to create plateaus with central forests and lakes. and it's supposed that above this region there are THOUSANDS of floating islands, and most of them floated away from this very region. And the plateaus are just what remained of them when they rose and detached from the land.
By the way, about the plateaus, they are supposed to be composed of: Mother Table, Father Table, Major, Minor, and Nascente. the five representing some of the largest islands in the territory. And here it is based and has Vibes of Germanic Europe, especially in the hundreds of towns that made up the Holy Roman Empire.
Dry Wind is divided into three subregions:
Land of Tombs, based on the Sahara and the Arabian Peninsula, being dry, and basically having NOTHING but sand here.
High Paradise, being a plateau that combines the Mojave, Sonoran, and Chihuahua into one.
Sicmaki wastelands, based on the fertile crescent, hence the swamp.
The setting could be like Victorian England, colonial United States, and the Old West.
Frossen DøD is divided into two regions:
Skogavjemper, a combination of the Ural Mountains of Siberia and their forests, and the Scandinavian mountains.
Issjøerland, a frozen, cold, and dry moorland. that extends throughout the Northwest, before becoming Savanna (colliding with cuyancui).
The two regions are INCREDIBLY lethal and unknown. Where humans only describe it as "the cemetery of humanity"... but... HERE LIVE MORE FURRIES (but Vikings/Scandinavians!) with a more mystical vibe, as if even the mtagoa were a new thing here, and there are ancient things under the ice.
Qillay pahda is a simple region, but VERY ancient. It is completely dry, cold, and at the same time frozen. Combining the Peruvian Andes with Tibet and a climate of Central Asia. having vibes like a lost, unknown land that no one has ever crossed.
Sacred Field is also another simple region, they call it "the land of endless spring." I didn't base this on a real territory, but supposedly, the magic of this place is that it is so paradisiacal that only the church could possess it as sacred land. Having the vibes of colonial Brazil but much more religious. Like a region where only specific believers of a specific religion live.
Just a fun fact: if you're wondering where the delta in Centrilla goes, it enters an ENORMOUS cave in the mountain range, and the river delta falls into the void of that great cave. Although it is believed that somewhere in that cave, there are various tunnels that were excavated throughout the region by a vanished civilization. Speaking of underground, beneath the Sideros Mountains, there is a system of caves THAT ARE ALSO HUGE, with various underground lakes so large that they seem like oceans with islands rich in minerals. oceans thru which the people who live here sail as if it were ancient Greece but with miners, and underground.
This was born out of boredom at school, so I drew it in my notebook and "transcribed" it to Worldbox. Any feedback you can give me? Ideas to continue developing it beyond the geographical aspect?
