It just doesn’t fit the look. A stamped clasp has more charm than any cheaply made milled clasp. No sub $700 watches is gonna have a substantial feel or a super premium look, and putting a milled clasp on it is like putting an expensive tire rim on a used Toyota Camry. No just stick a basic hubcap on it because that’s what the car looks the best with. Same logic with watches. A stamped clasp just fits sub $700 watches better.

I know this ain’t a hot take but I need some quick advice from you watch nerds.
someone on FB market place has a mint prx 35mm in white dial listed for $475. The automatic version ofc.
do I buy this one? I quite like the overall look but wasn’t super impressed with the bracelet quality when I had the chance to try it on. Felt a bit cheap? also it might be a bit too blingly for me to wear it at work?
but at the same time the price seems decent and I wouldnt lose too much money if I decided it’s not for me!
I have a Tudor black bay 36 that I daily currently with a skx013 on weekends
I saw this on a video and thought it looked alright and then I saw one in person and was blown away by the quality and the aesthetic.
Seiko just brought itself back from the embarrassment of the 5kx series.
but at the same time they obsess over tiny micro details that could be a “tell“ or celebrate with each other when a stranger (often someone with higher social status than them) compliments their fake watch?
I know this isn’t a hot take I just wanted to ask from normal people.
the dial is literally just all fully printed. how is this selling for more than $200?
In most lighting sunburst dials end up looking really cheap. Matte dials are superior.
we may have different opinions and views but once we wear a wrist wrist, we all now have one thing in common: the presence of time on our wrist.
its a reminder that we are all interconnected in some way and that we are simply living through time itself.
The combination of circles, squares, and triangles may seem inconsistent to someone unfamiliar with design cues, but that very inconsistency is what makes it so compelling. It feels as though it shouldn’t work and yet, the shapes all come together to produce one beautiful cohesive design.
it‘s the same reason why Picasso is on a league of its own. To an untrained eye, it looks like a child’s drawing. But to someone who knows a thing about design, it’s absolutely beautiful.
Basically if you can’t see the beauty of this watch then you don’t deserve to see it.
thats why you dont cheap out on straps
A sword used to signal who you were. You didn’t carry it because you were fighting every day, but because you could and it showed discipline and identity. I think today that role belongs to the watch.
No one technically needs one anymore. Your phone tells time just fine. But a watch is about intent. You choose it, wear it, maintain it. It is about routine and personal identity.
Some are flashy, some are built like tanks, some carry history on their scratches. Just like swords once did. They come in different flavours.
So my friends, wear your watches with pride. It is the modern man’s sword.
they just need to release a new movie with a brand new seamaster or something. agree?
Christopher Ward.
A British watch company made for those who boil their chicken in milk, and dare not put any pepper on it. Too spicy.
Now with a brand new Minecraft creeper inspired logo.
Premiere Swiss Watches.
“What’s on your wrist bro?”
“Hehe, Rollie. You?”
“Chris”
like I get that for dress watches they can only look really good with a leather strap.. but there is something about the permanence of a steel bracelet that you know will last the lifetime of a watch and isn’t some disposable piece of good that you will need to replace after 5 or 10 years
I posted here asking if this would be possible and people were happy to tell me I was fucked because they don’t grant SDs unless you are in good standing.
guess what, they approved my SD request, and I didn’t even need to submit a medical note or anything.
so FYi for anyone wondering when they search on Google years down the line. just because you deferred the Mt doesn’t mean they will automatically deny you SD for the final.
I’ve seen several grand seikos and also had one briefly before I sold it. The Zaratsu polishing isn’t really all that different than any mirror polished surfaces on good quality $3000+ watches
like relax no need to start throwing insults if someone posts their own hot take in a sub designed for hot takes
I don’t feel like buying a watch named after its founder who was too narcissistic to use his own name as the brand name.
i don’t want a guys name hanging on my wrist.
you are paying prices way higher than what the skx costed…. for a skx homage?
it just says I didn’t have money to include a Rolex. Ofc exceptions exist if you have brands that are more expensive than Rolex (AP, patek, etc).
but if you don’t, and your watch box is full of seikos, longines, tissots and Hamilton, you just got offended by my post because you are broke.
VH31 which are often only found in cheap Chinese watches…
But the only downside is you have to change the battery every 2 to 3 years… compared to resetting the time and date every single time you didn’t wear your watch 2 days in a row.
can manufacturers pls just use this $15 movement instead of the shitty miyota, seiko or ETA mechanical movements??
