So I have a cannon m100 and the touchscreen on it broke and I am learning how to repair it myself.

#1 - Is there any books anyone recommends that will help me?

#2 - I managed to successfully remove the digitizer / touch screen from my cannon, however the ribbon that connects to the hinge ripped in half. My question on that is, is the ribbon repairable? Can I solder it back together? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am stuck at the ribbon part. I have not purchased a replacement touchscreen yet but will do so. I am new to soldering also. :)
