Is my digicam repair guy scamming me ? Please help me

Bought a nikon coolpix digicam from a second hand market for $50 and after 1 month of minimal use it started showing pink lines on all the photos it took.

The photos also had wierd blurs if I pointed it towards light. I looked online and it was maybe a CCD issue.

Now I went back to the guy I got it from and he took me to a nearby repair guy who at first said the same, that it's a CCD issue.

However he just called me to tell that it's a motherboard issue and not a CCD problem and it'll be $40 to fix it instead of the $15 he quoted earlier.

The camera is working fine, all screens are working, all buttons are fine, only the photos have a pink strip on them.

I have a strong feeling this guy is trying to scam me, should I take my camera back without getting it repaired and look at another shop ?

Please help me out.

Can I get the 20’s effect

Can I get the 2000’s effect with this camera? Idk man I’m kinda bummed out and I think the camera quality is too good? I literally just bought this camera and I could get the Sony cybershot DSc (don’t remember the exact model) in the same price. Should I return this camera and get that instead? Or can I tweak the settings so I can get my aesthetic photos

Digital cams recs, not Kodak!

Usually I’d try to look at others posts but I haven’t found any recs that seem to work for me. I’m just looking for a digital camera that’s 150$ at most, I understand that’s a small budget but I’m just not in a place to spend any more on a camera. I’ve used canon and Sony cameras for other stuff so I’m not super new to them, but I am looking for something small, handheld preferably. And if it could be able to record would be good but not needed. Thank you!

Kodak PixPro FZ45 just not working

The camera turns on like this but I can’t take any pictures or turn it off. The screen stays turned on too. The only way I can turn it off is by opening the bottom but the lens doesn’t retract. I tried using new batteries but still the same issue is there. Sometimes it blinks orange a couple times but goes to green. Help.

Looking for a digital camera that can record!

Hi, I’ve been trying to do some research on digital cameras because I have a couple trips coming up in late summer and I want a camera because my iPhone quality is AWFUL. I do understand that cameras are expensive, unfortunately I don’t have the funds for a 200 dollar camera. My price range is preferably around 120-130 dollars, and it doesn’t need to be the best of quality, just something that gives an older feel that can also record. If anyone has any recommendations please let me know!

Found untested digicam

just wondering if any of you have an estimate as to how much repairing this cam would cost (im pretty sure its the sony hx90v). so far i havent tried it with a battery yet but from what i can see, the top left corner is broken, pop up flash cant be closed, and the battery slot cant be closed as well (no cover)

Is there still hope for this?

I wonder if this can still be repaired? It turned on when I changed the batteries and seems to be reacting to the buttons, but the lens doesn’t retract and there’s no display on the LCD.

broken traveler digital camera

Hello! I have a camera, a Traveler Super Slim XS 70 (DIGICAM), which usually works fine. However, over the past few months it has started showing a black screen, and when I take photos they are also just black, nothing is showing when I turn it on to camera/video. The lens is not stuck, and the batteries are fully charged. Does anyone know how to fix it?

I thrifted this sony cyber shot steady shot dsc-w330 for $8 today but it wont turn on because it didnt come with a charger. I dont think I own that kind of charger so do we think its worth a shot to buy one or does it look dead? If so what charger should I get?

Its seems like good condition so im super excited for this find!

Does the camera itself matter much?

Of course I understand that to an extent the camera of course matters depending on what I want to achieve. But say, for instance, that I want to buy a Cybershot, and it’s hard to find ones decently priced that work, if I like the photos that someone takes with their dsc-w55, could I recreate that vibe by editing the settings on a dsc-w510? I’m not knowledgeable on cameras nor have I ever owned one, but I’ve wanted to since I was a kid, I’ve just never gotten round to buying one and I’ve always hesitated.
Any help would be appreciated :)

What do you guys think about Sony cybershot DSC P73

Thinking of buying it. How’s the videos and pictures of this? How’s the quality of this thing? Also is this beginner friendly? (This will be my first ever digicam)

Fujifilm finepix a700 doesn’t want to take photos.

Hi everyone! I recently got my hands on my parent’s old camera, but there’s a problem. When I press the power button, “Finepix” pops up on the screen for less than a second, the lens extends but then the screen turns black. Sometimes, there’s a quick orange flash above the screen. I can still search through the gallery and see old photos, but when I enter in the shooting mode the screen turns black. I bought Ni-Mh batteries

What do you think about this Nikon coolpix L10

So recently I found this 20 years (almost) old digicam in my house, and after using it couple of days the plastic latch broke probably due to it's too old but I am currently using it by straping rubber bands, here are some sample photos I took.

Hey fellas, need y’all’s opinions. I’m set on the model I’m getting but I’m really torn between which color I should get. What’s your thoughts? (Images taken from the internet)

Budget friendly waterproof digital camera?

Hi!

Do y’all have recommendations for a budget friendly waterproof camera?

Requirements:

  • waterproof!!
  • anything under $100 (can be a little over)
  • good battery life
  • doesn’t have to be high quality (like it to have a nostalgic grainy vibe)
  • easy to use

Thank you!!

Looking for the best cheap digicam

Hi! I’m about to go on my first trip to Europe (I’m American) and I’ve been looking for a decent quality digital camera on the lower end of the price scale. I keep getting advertised digital cameras on TikTok (it goes through phases, last time it was skirts for some reason 💀), but I figured it would be better to just ask somewhere online rather than buy some random piece of plastic.

I don’t need anything fancy, after all, it’s only for a single, 10-day trip. I’ve only got maybe up to 45$ to spend, so the cheaper the better without it being outright rubbish quality.
