Convince me the marquise is a better choice than a heart?

Convince me the marquise is a better choice than a heart?

Hello!

Basically the title. I've always wanted a heart shape e-ring, and think they are the most GORGEOUS shape, but my boyfriend said he would absolutely not get me one because he thinks people will judge my ring for being too childish. I also like marquise rings and so does he so he said he will most likely get that since its something we both like.

We went to go look at rings yesterday so I could make sure of the marquise shape (and other shapes) and yes the marquise was beautiful. Unfortunately they didnt have any heart shape rings because apparently they are custom so no store would have them in person (according to the saleswoman though im unsure of this). I was really bummed about this because I was hoping I could see the heart on me to either change my mind and not like it or convince my bf they are beautiful too 😭.

When we got home, he looked on some websites for nice settings for a marquise. I urged him to look at hearts too and he did but he was not impressed lmao.

I havent shut up about a heart stone so a big part of me thinks he's gonna surprise me with one but I cant put it past him to get the marquise still. If he does I'd still be happy of course because its a pretty shape. I also dont want him to feel embarrassed to show my e-ring LOL.

Again, the marquise is gorgeous and theres a higher chance I'll love it still in 20 years, but the heart shape is still in the back of my mind. I am a bit worried people will think its childish but part of me doesn't care. I think im trying to figure out if the idea of people hating a heart shape e-ring triumphs over me wearing one anyways.

I feel like while the marquise may fit me better as far as my hands/fingers go, and as far as my career (accountant = something more classy?) goes, the heart fits my personality more. I do care how I look and come off to others a lot which makes this hard. I wouldnt necessarily want people to look at my ring and assume it's just a promise ring.

BTW, theres still at least 1 year ahead of us before he actually buys a ring and proposes.
