DISCLAIMER: I read somewhere that the director debunked this idea already but just sharing my perception and how I brought myself there.

1. the talisman that Nike gifts Bear. “It was my mothers before me etc” like who’s the entity’s mother? Seems demonic possibly. And the talisman itself, I thought it was a cursed object that once Bear accepts he’ll be trapped.

2. whenever she conceals her face, I assumed it was because the true demon face comes out when she thinks she’s safe to take on that form. I thought the entire movie she was slowly going to morph into a demonic creature.

3. super strength when killing Sara, and the fact she was able to find them in the car so easily.

4. the monologue she delivers during the drinking game. I thought it was a “I’m a being who’s thousands of years old” kind of moment.

5. the whole “filet the flesh and put it between my legs” just seems demonic.

6. packed into the “cat sandwich” are two Polaroids. She writes “you, not me” which at the time I interpreted as “we’re in this pact together and one of us will be dead at the end..it’ll be you NOT ME”

7. when she was creeping around like a predator while Bear slept. Seemed like she was saying “I’m a creature in the night stalking my pray”.

8. all the weird walking moments. Especially when she walked backwards. That just seemed very DARK SIDED!!!

9. when we hear the real Nikki on the phone screaming, I assumed she was in some sort of Hellraiser style torture chamber in hell.

Anyways I know that’s not what was happening but I was very stoned and that’s where my mind went. What do yall think?

Hello all. I’m watching the series for the first time in the year of our lord 2026 and am completely obsessed. I’m currently half way through season 4 and truly believe that all four of our girls have so much to love, but there’s something about Carrie that I can’t shake…

Yes, there’s merit to the idea of Carrie being self centered and a fool for love, but my biggest gripe is just how SQUARE she is!! She’s a sex columnist that’s lived in NYC for 15 years (at the time of the mugging) and yet she’s so conservative when it comes to the real sex lives of herself and her friends.

She herself does not stray from the 35-45 year old, tall, rich, dark haired white man (at least so far that I’ve seen”). Big, Aiden, Pork Pie, etc. She’s supposed to be on the razors edge of society and yet the idea of sexually fluid youngsters scares her so badly that she flees the party? Samantha has a brief lesbian relationship and Carrie is uninterested? Charlotte enjoys having TL from Trey and that means nothing to Carrie? Hell, Trey and Charlottes entire sexual relationship could be its own column.

I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m surprised just now narrow Carries sexual realm seems to be. If I knew her in real life, I may not be so interested to hear her opinions on the sex scene in New York.

Take this with a grain of salt as I’m still making my way through the series!

Also I just have to make a short note about Carries blackcent when interacting with the transgender sex workers at Samantha’s party….i suppose we can only laugh at the year 2000.
