I would just like to get some clarification on an issue I had with my 2010 V6 in the past.

A few years ago, the car just stopped starting out of nowhere. I pushed it to the mechanic, they checked it out, and said the starter is disconnected. They pushed something in the engine with their hand, which fixed it.

And the car was working reliably for years after.

How can a starter just disconnect? Can it happen again? Where can I find more info about this issue and how the mechanic fixed it?
