Drainage/grading issue with property
Grading and drainage issue identified by structural engineer for home we are under contract. Engineer had gone to look at a crack as a follow up to home inspection. Very high moisture content measured in cinder block wall. Overall the issue can be remediated and we are willing to carefully move forward.
Sellers are livid that we would request anything as a credit for this. Their evidence is that they never had a problem. Additionally they seem to be angry this was identified period because the engineer was really looking at a crack which may be unrelated .
Pretty tense now. No advocacy from buyer agent. Would any buyer accept this type of thing and not ask for credit? They are acting like this is so unreasonable when our perspective is that it is a big potential problem. We are paying full asking.
