Should I be concerned by my setting? Especially the space below my diamond?

I got a ring upgrade for my anniversary/push present. I loved my oval solitaire so we just upgraded my stone from a .47 to a 1.52, im obsessed with the stone! However it was reset into my original setting at the recommendation of the jeweler. They do a lot of custom work and craft the rings in house so I trusted them when they said they could reset it into my current setting with a new head.

I had originally mentioned thinking I would need a new setting with a thicker band and maybe cathedral arms or rail since the stone was bigger. He said they set stone of this size in a 4 prong regularly and it would be fine with a new head. I picked it up today and I love the stone but feel like the space between my diamond and the bottom of the setting seems large? I knew my setting would be higher with a larger stone but just didn’t expect the amount of space and dislike how it looks from the side but unsure if it’s normal?

Honestly sad if it have to go get a new setting because they removed my original diamond to reset the new on in it and at this point getting a complete new setting when I took apart my old ring already makes me sad.

got to pick up my upgraded oval today!!!

upgraded to a 1.52 ct oval from a .47 and am obsessed with the sparkle!

definitely going to take me a minute to adjust to this higher setting though, I’m a little nervous my current setting isn’t ideal for a 1.5 but the jeweler seemed not worried when I mentioned it

Engagement ring upgrade!

Picked out a new stone for my engagement ring on Tuesday and am so excited to get it back! I’m upgrading from a .47 ct oval to a 1.52 oval! They are setting in on my original setting so I’m excited to see how it turns out but a little nervous!
