RIP mini looking for advice for funeral costs
I of course finally paid off my truly beloved 2013 mini cooper countryman and the next week she was throwing a code for her turbo.... My highly trusted BMW mechanic quoted me $10k to fix her which is twice what she is worth I fear. They were equally as shocked and upset as I was to find that her turbo was completely full of oil. With a sad heart I know she is only a parts car now and our time together is over :( (or a project car for someone much more mechanically inclined than I)
Have you been in this position before? What would you do in my shoes? The local pull apart yard offered me $450 for her (I felt her brand new wheels and tires alone I could sell for that). Our local Facebook marketplace (greater Colorado springs area) is saturated with mini coopers in various levels of disrepair and are all priced between $2-$9k. I've had her properly serviced constantly since I bought her in 2022, but she does have over 130k miles. I currently don't have a car payment and need another vehicle, so I would just like to get a little something I could put down on a new car ($1-2k? Am I insane for saying that?). Any advice while I go through this sad time is much appreciated!
