New list, new thoughts

New list, new thoughts

Kinda cool, with a new list, more stuff to reflect over the years.

Favourite Anime: I mean yeah, it's perfect for me, pretty much have everything I like about anime in one series, music, direction, animation, art, story etc, all perfect imo.

Best Story: There were happy times, there were sad times, this show made me feel things and more, that first like 10 episodes does not do the show justice, but if you stick to it, the payoff is the biggest imo so far in the 900+ shows I've watched.

BPI: This was the show that I met and bonded with the most people, online, and IRL. Plus it's a damn good show, and damn good series with Fte, FGO, Tsukihime, Mahoyo, Karakyou etc

Best Fight: The fluidity, the intensity, the speed, the impact, the ingenuity. Perfect.

Overhated: Personally, I don't think the show is as bad as most people think, the two being yes and weird storyline for people that have never played a VN, but the drama is peak as a late night Chinese drama enjoyer.

Underrated: I have never heard of anybody talk about Aoki Hagane, personally I think the ships are really sick, as someone that got in a little bit of naval history from playing, I shiet u not. Azur Lane lol, before they hard went into the gooner zone, found hololive through that too.

Overrated: I've never seen the appeal, I dislike there being so many characters that are forgotten, I dislike the story, I dislike komi, I dislike it being shoved down my throat when it was popping off in the manga etc etc.

Aged Well: As someone that went into the series late, I like that after reading the manga, my view on the world expanded with the anime, personally I still think the art and animation are still good, even if old.

CO: I've literally never seen anyone talk about this lol, personally I think it started off weak with a standard Chinese protagonist, but the story really expands at the back, it kinda caught me by surprise especially since I thought it was just a goofy show.

Protagonist: I mean.. it was either him or the Shougun, I think him better xd also, yeah, Sakata Gintoki.

Antagonist: Way back then when DAL was somewhat "popular" I thought of Kurumi as the "Oh ofc people like the S baddy" but when I read the LN, her character and story really got expanded and I was mistaken of her entire existence. Peak waifu fr, Tohka who? sike.

Soundtrack: Kevin innit

Best Romance: Personally, I think romance in fiction has peaked for me; after so many years, nothing else has even come close. Senjougahara aside, the sheer codependency / reliance of Araragi and Shinobu's existence is beautifully expressed in the second season of the show. It deeply details just how important they are to each other. As two of the few beings cursed with such a massive lifespan, they depend on one another to ensure they are never truly alone. Once enemies, now together they make one.

When every other loved one eventually dies, their spouses, their parents, their children, their friends, even the shopkeeper down the road, they will still have each other. There is a profound beauty in that. That sort of twisted, almost parasitic relationship is the only permanent thing they will ever have, in their version of "forever."

Direction: Personally, I think Monogatari with its avant-garde direction that transforms dense, dialogue-heavy exposition into a visually interesting, fast-paced psychological landscape where every erratic camera angle and quick frame cut mirrors the characters' internal chaos makes it an amazing experience overall.

Production: I think it's the one few moments when a work I enjoy gets an adaptation that made my jaw fully drop to the floor. The first episode of the Mushoku Tensei was near an hour long? Took me about 2 hours to finish the first episode, that's how taken aback I was, I had expectations, but the goats at Studio Bind blew it away.

Biggest Hype: I shiet you not, this is my biggest hype, you probably expected steins gate, monogatari, kimetsu, Jujutsu. But nah, idol innit. For years I rage baited my friend to never watch love live, but after like 6 years? We had plans to visit Numazu, so I thought it was finally time to watch Love Live, and of course, we had to start from the beginning and not skip straight to Aqours, but even having watched Aqours, my main goal. Muse blew me away, from their nostalgic songs from playing them in Osu! To their charming personalities, and their dreams. Ngnl I cried like a few times in this show, and I can count the number of shows I cried to on one hand. Peak series. Muse will never die.

Talk: Grisaia was one of those shows I had 0 expectations, the first one ended up being quite nice, but nothing really special, only after the 2nd one, the movie, I was fully invested, opening of the show hits so hard after you understand his life story, and the show has one of the most based MC of all time, Kazama Yuuji. Feeling nostalgic I went to rewatch the series, I thought it was a 2-cour anime 24 episodes. It was 10. That's how much of an impact it left on me, one of my favourite shows to date.

Nostalgic: I mean yeah, I grew up with it, technically it's my first anime if you don't count corpse party, dragon ball, doraemon since Idk what was anime back then, it was just cartoons to me, next to spongebob, courage, Jimmy neutron etc. I grew up with Naruto, hits really different after going through everything, Boruto excluded.

Everyone should see: Personally I think this is just a very good anime, and I feel that generally, people from all walks of life would enjoy, to the young lad to the old housewife. Especially with the Chinese, personally I enjoyed this a lot as it reminded me of late night Chinese drama that I used to watch with my mom like Patriot Yue Fei or sum shiet.
