hey yall i’m not sure if this is the right place to come for this, and if not i apologize!! i just finished up my freshman year of college, and basically spent the whole year being so uncertain with what i want to do in my life. i’ve narrowed it down to nursing and occupational therapy, both obviously have there pros and cons. i feel more secure choosing nursing, because i wouldn’t have to go to grad school right off the bat and can make good money, and i feel like my career, and humanly values align with nursing. at my university though there are still several pre reqs i need to take to be admitted after my sophomore year, and the nursing program is three years, so i will have to be a fifth year student. if im being honest i just don’t confident with this route. not only would i have to cram all the hardest pre reqs in two semesters but my schools nursing program is extremely competitive and im not sure if i would even get it, and plus the extra year. my plan i have set up in my mind if to just pursue the health sciences pre ot track and put my focus towards that, and when i graduate if nursing is still calling my name i could do an absn, or and msn. my university has a great msn program, it does have some pre reqs, which i would be sure to take. i know msn is very expensive. i truly which i could go back in time and knew nursing was what i wanted to do, so i could’ve been directly admitted but unfortunately i didn’t. i would love to here from current nurses, nursing students, i feel so stuck, and behind but thanks for reading!!!

hi! i was seeking advice for anyone who goes to uc and has to pay for there own off campus housing. my freshman year i chose to save money and live at home but i’ve been miserable doing so. so i signed a lease with some other girls for a shared house and the rent is about 780 a month. i’m honestly terrible at saving money and budgeting so it’s something im really trying to work on. i work a part time job near where i live and ive been getting good hours cause i don’t have classes two days out of the week, but im pretty sure i will have classes everyday next fall. i’m definitely gonna try to find a job in clifton, so if u know anyone hiring lmk. i know a lot of peoples parents pay there rent but for those who do it on their own, any advice/tips

Hi! Im finishing up my first year of undergrad and seeking some advice from pa’s and ot’s, shoutout to anyone in those fields as there both phenomenal!!! I unfortunately didn’t enter college having it “all figured out” but I’ve taken so much time this freshman year to have a better idea of what I want my future career to be, Ive bounced between ra, pa, and ot, at this point I’ve confidently exed out nursing,so I’m truly so stuck between pa and OT, I know these are two completely different fields but both align with my future goals in different ways. My school fortunately has a pre ot track and a pre pa track both of which are suppose to successfully set you up to get into your desired program, so I really would like to decide soon right now I’m working on pre ot, but I don’t want I change my mind senior year , not only would I most likely have to go back and take some classes, but also pa school has a lot more requirements like patient care hours, ect, so I’m really trying to find the best fit for me in the next year or so, so I can prepare in undergrad and be ready by the time graduation hits. I just have so much anxiety that whatever I choose to pursue now I will later on change my mind. I’ve shadowed both of these occupations and the work of ot definitely seems more of my thing, but I do have concerns with ot cause all I read and hear about is how the pay is terrible. I come from a low income family and I really want to “make it out”, I’m not saying I’m trying to make generation wealth or anything but more less have a comfortable lifestyle without stressing about money all the time, but by the looks of it that won’t be fulfilled if I choose ot. I love pa, but I’m worried I’m not smart enough for the schooling, I’ve heard it’s very hard and I just worry I won’t succeed with the schooling, and also schooling itself is very competive to get into. Something I love about pa is I would love a job where I could get into dermatology, or aesthetics of some kind, and I love how you can easily transition from different fields. I know nobody can tell me what I should do, cause it’s purely based on my goals and what I want but I would love to hear people’s inputs, and advice .

Hi! I’m hoping to hear from any nurses, or nursing students I look forward to seeing what everyone has to say! I’m currently finishing up my first year of college, this year has been kind tough I didn’t perform to well in my first semester so my gpa is currently at a 2.5, im hoping this semester grades will get it boosted a bit, but I’ve also been dealing with the dilemma of what I want to do in my life. I’ve been pretty set on nursing, ive gotten two pre reqs for my schools nursing program done so far but I have a good amount left, and there all pretty difficult classes, chem with lab, anatomy 1 and 2 with lab, microbiology with lab, and a few other classes. I’m super doubtful that I can handle that course load my sophomore year, and have a huge fear of failure and flunking my gpa to not even get in the program. I talked to a nursing advisor and she kinda geared me towards considering majoring in something else of interest and taking some science courses to get my msn after I graduate. I thought this sounded like a good idea in the moment but I know it will cause me a lot more debt in the long run, I’m just not sure if it’s a good idea. I don’t see myself being anything except a nurse currently and the position I’m in but sucks I wish I would’ve just entered as a nursing major so I didn’t have to worry about getting in. I would love to hear anyone’s thoughts negative or positive!!!
