Wanted to share this app I created. It’s called “Rate Your Campus” and basically has places all across campus like bars, dorms, apartments etc for students to rate (UC email domain required). It is only at UC right now but we are currently working on getting it at Miami Oh. Every download is appreciated 🙏🙏
Like the title says, does anyone know of things I should get to know (things pertaining to IT/networking, like protocols, different cable types, IP addresses, router configurations, switch configurations, etc.). I hold knowledge of building computers. I know part names. I have some networking (albeit minimal) experience with getting a homelab setup (a plug-and-play switch with the router just being a home router), and I had a friend help me with getting an IP setup for a Ubuntu VM inside of a Windows server to communicate with my personal PC. He also helped me set up Pi-hole through Ubuntu. I also got the windows server so i could have a folder for sharing files from my pc to the windows server. (sorry if i worded that wrong.) I would have to freshen up on the ubuntu IP setup as I forgot, as well as the shared access folder setup. But I can do basic Ubuntu navigation (moving from folder to folder, folder/file deletion, folder/file rename, folder/file moving, file/file editing, and folder/file creation and things of that nature). If I worded something wrong/confusing, please just ask in the comments; I'm open to any questions/advice
Thank you guys!
Can incoming students without a Bearcat ID (yet) ride the shuttle? What about guests? Are there charges for non-students? If so, how much?
The shuttle webpage didn’t go into those details, so grateful for any insights from folks with experience using the shuttles!
I’m an international student at a Midwest university working part time (minimum wage). Money is tight but I’m trying to be smart about it instead of just letting it disappear.
A few things I’m trying to figure out:
• What’s the best way to actually save when the paycheck is small? Is a fixed % even realistic on this income?
• Are high yield savings accounts worth it for someone with a small balance, and do any of them work well for international students / non-citizens?
• Budgeting apps: worth it or overkill? What do you actually use and stick with?
• Anything I should know about taxes as an F-1 student (tips income, filing, etc.)?
• Credit: can international students build credit here, and should I even bother this early?
• Any dumb money mistakes you made in college that you’d tell your younger self to avoid?
Not looking to get rich, just want to not be clueless and maybe have a small cushion by the time I graduate. Appreciate any advice.
Is this good?? 😭😭 chem might be replaced with physics depending on ap chem score (but pretty sure I failed), and I’ll also be taking two online classes the personal nutrition and medical terminology…
Hey. I’m currently getting ready to head into my first year at UC and would really like hearing what people have to say about the school. It was honestly a last minute choice to go here but i’m definitely excited. I know a decent amount about academics here but not so much social scenes and stuff like that. Is it a big party school, is greek like big, are people here friendly? I would love some insight on the school so yea. I’ve been hearing my friends say it is pretty rough safety wise, which has been making me feel like I might end of transferring, is safety a big issue? Ideally I wanted to go to a school where I could wander around drunk without a single worry. Seems like that won’t be the case here.
Hey guys! My kid will start in the fall and I’m trying to buy gift cards from restaurants around campus that he can walk to for something different or if he needs to go to the store. He loves trying anything so nothing is out of bounds. We don’t live in Cincy, so any help is appreciated. Or do you think this is too much for a freshman?
Some other colleges have made this year’s AP scores available to incoming freshmen on their portal. Does anyone know if UC does this? If so, where would we find those scores in the portal?
Personally, I've seen Lime scooters blocking accessibility, dangerous driving, and other things. What have you seen and what are your opinions? (This 'survey' is for a class)
hi everyone, i just finished my freshman year and am trying to figure out where to transfer to. i am majoring in civil engineering. OSU was my first choice as it seemed to be the obvious one but i've had a nightmare of a time dealing with them and they have no aid or housing for me. now i'm trying to weigh out my other options, so how do any current or past engineering students feel about the program? is there decent access to scholarships and undergrad research?
also, what's the housing situation like here? can sophomores and juniors live in the dorms if they choose or is space too limited? my biggest dealbreaker with OSU is that i can't live on campus and i don't want to get my hopes up here if it'll be the same LOL.
Coming in the fall and parents got me an ebike for getting around campus. People who have them how is it safety/storing wise?
I have a bike cover and Ulock. Do you take the battery inside with you at night? Is it bad when it rains/snows?
I just wanna make sure I'm prepared in advance. Thanks in advance!
Hello, I am an upcoming 3rd year student and wanted to make a post to ask for advice. At the end of my second semester (dorms) I received a SAP notification saying I wasn't qualifying for academic standards anymore. I then went through with the appropriate process providing documentation from my therapist to verify my issues and was approved.
During that summer I worked toward fixing my mental health issues. I then came back my second year living at off campus apartments I maintained good academic standing for the first semester. >!At the begging of the second semester I faced a serious sexual assault which greatly decremented my mental health, I have not proceeded with pressing charges as I don't know the persons full name or social media I know having something like that documented would likely work well on a SAP form. All I can provide is a note from my therapist saying I've had issues and they're no longer and my personal testimony in the essay they have you provide in the form. !<
I was just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation? How likely am I to get approved again on my second SAP appeal, and I'm not sure if they'll take such serious claims with little documentation seriously? I've also begun working with a social worker from campus to try to get a medical leave of absence but I don't know if getting one so late is possible, or if it'd undo the SAP restrictions.

*All other utilities are included in the rent.
I was wondering since I'm thinking about coming to this uni, how much does a typical architect student earn during the Coop program. How much work does he put into this job and how much would he earn in a month??
So on a scale from 1-10 in 2026, how would people in said field would rate the programs you've been in
(people do CE for Computer engineering right?)
1=BRUH DO NOT COME HERE
5= It's not bad but it's not top notch
10=would do again, helped me get 6 fig job offer
thoughts on my schedule? what class should i be most worried for
