My cats just ate some marble cake

both 1.10 years old - born July 11 2024

I was just cleaning out a box and had entenmann's marble cake next to me to snack on. I left the room for like 1 minute for 2 and come back to see both of my cats nibbling on my cake. I don’t know how much they ate but I’m sure it wasn’t much.

I looked up how much cocoa powder is in a loaf and google said each loaf has at least 1/4 cups of unsweetened cocoa powder. Which is between 20-30 grams or 4tbsp.

I know chocolate is toxic for cats and I’m really worried. Im going to keep monitoring them right now but would like advise for what I should do. The average vet bill in New York is like 100-200+ and I don’t know if I can afford a 400+ dollar vet bill right now.

They also ate food before this all happened, if that important.
