Trying different "paths" for different SR's "Honing".
Path 1: The Master Natural Cascade
(Coticule → La Lune → JNAT)
This path is for Iwasaki Kamisori.
Ardennes Coticule (The Foundation):
Start with a medium-light slurry.
20-30 laps.
Dilute the slurry with water drops until you are honing on pure water for the last 15-20 laps.
Pierre La Lune (The Bridge):
Apply water and 1-2 drops of glycerin.
Perform 30-40 ultra-light laps.
Ohzuku Asagi + Aiwatani Tomo (The Apex):
Generate a milky slurry with the Tomo Nagura.
Hone directly on the slurry.
Add a single drop of water to thin the mixture as you go (spray).
Finish with 10 weightless laps on nearly pure water.
Path 2: The Slate Transition
(Coticule → Duskstone Water Hone)
This path is for the Boker Damashorn.
Ardennes Coticule (The Eraser):
Watery slurry perform 20 laps, then flush the stone and do 30 laps on pure water.
Duskstone Water Hone (The Velvet Polish): Use strictly with water. Perform 40-50 light X-strokes it will polish out the Coticule's micro-striations.
As the bevel flattens against the stone, you will feel the water create a slight suction effect.
Once that suction peaks, perform 10 more weightless laps to finalize the buttery edge.
Path 3: The Hard-Alloy Burnish
(Pierre La Lune → Burnished Black Arkansas)
For the Fafnir Damasteel.
Pierre La Lune (The Pre-Polish):
Water with 1-2 drops of glycerin to prevent skipping on the dense surface.
Perform 40-60 laps.
Dan's Black Arkansas (The Mirror Burnish):
Wipe the blade completely dry.
Apply a few drops of light honing oil to the burnished novaculite surface (Norton honing oil is the one i have/use). Use completely weightless pressure—let the oil suspend the blade.
Perform 50 to 100 laps until the edge is a brilliant mirror.
All this paths are right after the shampton glass 1 and 2k HR and 4 and 8k HC bevel set and synthetic progression kit.
Seems to be working out (dosent harm/irritate my skin so far but i do struggled around my moustache and shin area, my beard might be to thick?? i still have a long way to go, any advice, suggestion, experience its highly apreciated.
