I’ve got ants in my plants and I’d like to ask: can i keep ‘em?

Can/should i keep these ants as a colony? Sorry if the images are too blurry. I received a ficus as a gift for helping someone move. I quickly discovered small reddish ants in the soil and near the pot. First question is what type of ants could they be? [Front range area, Colorado USA] Second, could i transfer the soil to some other container and create an ant colony? They’ve been surviving off leaf litter that I’ve been adding to the pot for several months. Thanks:)
