Italian filmmaker in NYC — looking to join film sets 🎬

Hi everyone! I’m Francesco, an Italian film director currently in New York City.

I’ve directed and worked on several film and animation projects in Italy, and I’m currently going through a transition from animation to live action. I’d love to get to know the NYC film scene from the inside and, most importantly, meet other filmmakers and people working in the industry.

I’m available to help out on any kind of film/TV set/short/student film, in whatever role might be useful — production, art department, assisting, or simply doing whatever needs to be done. I’m not looking for a specific position; I’m looking for experience, connections and the opportunity to learn.

Even if you’re not looking for crew right now, I’d be happy just to meet, exchange contacts and connect with other filmmakers in NYC.

If you’re working on a project or know someone who might need an extra pair of hands, feel free to DM me!

Thanks! 🎥

Looking for PA or any crew position on NYC film productions (Aug. 13 onward)

Hi everyone!

My name is Francesco, I'm a 33-year-old filmmaker from Italy, and I'll be based in Manhattan starting August 13.

I've written and directed several short films in Italy, but I've never had the chance to work on a film set in the United States. I'd love to learn how the industry works here, meet new people, and gain hands-on experience.

I'm looking for any opportunity to work on a film set—paid or unpaid (depending on the project). I'm happy to start from the ground up. Whether it's as a Production Assistant, Art Department PA, Set PA, Runner, Grip/Electric trainee, or any other entry-level role, I'm eager to help and learn.

I'm hardworking, easy to work with, and genuinely passionate about filmmaking. My goal isn't just to find a job—it's to experience the filmmaking culture in New York and contribute however I can.

If anyone knows of productions looking for crew members, or has advice on where to look, I'd really appreciate it. Feel free to send me a message.

Thanks so much!

Italian filmmaker planning to move to NYC – looking to connect with indie film community

Hi everyone,

I’m an Italian filmmaker and illustrator. I’ve directed several short films that have been selected and awarded at festivals, and one of my works was nominated for the Italian David di Donatello awards.

I’m planning to spend some time in New York this summer with the goal of:

  • connecting with the independent film scene
  • collaborating on short films or low-budget projects
  • and potentially shooting a short film in NYC that could lead to a feature project later on

I’m not looking for “quick opportunities” or industry shortcuts, I’m mainly trying to understand how filmmakers actually integrate into the indie ecosystem in New York, and how collaborations usually start there.

If anyone is working in indie film, production, or is part of a filmmaking community in NYC, I’d really appreciate advice or connections.

Happy to share my work privately.

Thanks a lot 🙏

open for everything

Hi everyone,

I’m an Italian animation director and illustrator, and I’ll be in NYC during August.
I recently directed my first live-action short film and I’m looking to gain real on-set experience in any position available.

I’m genuinely open to anything: PA work, art department, runner, assistant roles, indie sets, student productions, music videos, etc. I just want to learn, help, and spend time on set.

My background is mainly in animation and visual storytelling. Some of my previous shorts were screened at festivals and one was nominated for a David di Donatello in Italy, but right now I’m mainly interested in experiencing live-action production from the inside.

I’m hardworking, adaptable, and used to independent productions and small crews.

If anyone is shooting in NYC in August and needs an extra pair of hands, feel free to DM me.

Thank you!
Francesco
