was taking prozac (fluoxetine) 20mg a day for 5 weeks. 10 days ago I stopped because the muscle ache & twitching was driving me crazy. The twitching still persists 12 days after stopping.

Is this normal?

I started prozac 20mg and 1 week into it i developed some annoying muscle twitching. But I continued on 20mg for a further 2 weeks until i decided to see my doctor about this.

In his wisdom put me up to 40mg daily of prozac which the twitching got much worse (in also developed some thigh soreness) so I decided to stop cold turkey when I read twitching can be a side effect.

It's now been 6 weeks since I stopped prozac but the muscle twitching and pain continues, my question is,

Is this normal for side effects/withdrawal to continue so long after only being on the medication for 5 weeks?
