Survived palliative care after going thru hell due to a birth defect and used anorexia to cope most of my teen and young adult years. Was told I was terminal from my birth defect and there was no hope for me. Proved the doctors who gave me a terminal prognosis wrong, graduated palliative at age 25, got my bladder removed, spent the year recovering from my ostomy surgery, gained 50 healthy pounds, and am thriving now more than ever before. I not only no longer use a walker, but I also can do hot pilates, hot yoga, running, swimming… I can jump for as much joy as I want. :)

26F, 5”8, 95 lbs to 135 lbs

Survived palliative care after an ostomy saved my life. Learned to walk again (I was using a walker) and haven’t really stopped since.

Routine: hot Pilates w weights, hot yoga, walking 10k steps a day, sometimes light running (still difficult but I’m getting there), and lane swimming!
