Nift kolkata FD department is Mid tier
So whoever is thinking of opting FD in nift kolkata I just wanna let you know a few things:
college is from 9-6 ( shocking ik)
The faculty is not great
The old experienced faculty has already retired.
Garment construction is the core of the dept and this year we were taught nothing, we were on our very own.
Faculty is very important ( which this campus does not have )
FD only has these deepening specialisation ( Couture, technical textiles and styling)
let's just say the faculty for both these ds are not good
Would also suggest anyone to choose KD in a better campus.
( both Kd and Fd are really similar )
( By someone who was getting KD in the big 3 )
draping was also more of a self taught journey this year
we got to know the work load of other campuses is relatively less and is paced in the best manner , other campuses give you the time to learn slowly and on quality. ( Talk to other dept seniors they might know the real thing)
this campus gives you assignments like crazy and will give you a lot of pressure with very little time on your hand , The education quality is just meh but they expect you to do crazy load of work.
The year before us had it great, the faculty then was nice. ( They would really make you confident in your own work and teache well)
Pros of this campus:
This campus will make you confident in your work
you have to grash things fast
you will learn to handle pressure
you have no other choice but to learn great time management
