Wanting to resign from my client but NOT from HelloRache — how do I proceed? Do I email my HAM directly?

Hi everyone! Hoping someone here has been in a similar situation and can share how they handled it.

I’ve been with HelloRache for a while now and I genuinely want to stay — but I need to step away from my current client. The main reasons:

•	The tasks are significantly different from what was discussed during my interview and onboarding. The role was presented one way, but the actual day-to-day has been something else entirely.
•	The workload is unsustainable. The volume and scope of what’s expected has gone beyond what was originally agreed upon.
•	It’s starting to affect my mental health. I’ve been experiencing anxiety just thinking about work — dreading logging on, constantly stressed even outside of work hours. It’s gotten to a point where it’s no longer something I can push through.

I want to handle this professionally and not burn any bridges, especially since I want to remain with HelloRache and hopefully be placed with a new client.

A few questions:

1.	Do I email my HAM directly to initiate the resignation from the client? Or is there a formal process I should go through first?
2.	Is there a required notice period?
3.	Has anyone resigned from a client and been successfully re-matched? How long did that take?
4.	Any tips on framing this to the HAM so it doesn’t negatively affect my standing?

Would really appreciate any advice from those who’ve been through this. Thank you! 🙏
