Electrical engineering from India zero work experience wants to move to Australia

Hi everyone, just looking for some genuine advice.

I graduated in 2020 and after that spent years preparing for UPSC and other government exams. Unfortunately, I wasn’t successful in any of them. Because of this long gap, I’m struggling to find decent job opportunities in India now.

I’ve seen a lot of people with similar situations move to Australia for studies/work, so I wanted to understand realistically how the process works. Is it actually worth spending that much time and money? What pathway should someone like me even look at?

I tried researching online, but most websites only push visa options and consultancy stuff without giving a clear real-world picture. I’m more interested in hearing from people who actually went through this journey.

If anyone had a similar career gap or switched paths later in life, I’d really appreciate your advice or experience.

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) for visa purposes, but I have a bit of confusion regarding a pending traffic challan.

I have a challan under Section 184b of the Motor Vehicles Act (red light violation). It’s marked as non-compoundable, so I couldn’t pay it online. When I visited the traffic department, they told me it will be transferred to the judiciary/virtual court, and I’ll have to wait until it appears there to pay or resolve it.

Now, the issue is — I want to apply for PCC in the meantime. During the application, there’s a question about "whether any criminal case is pending in court".

I’m not sure:

  • Does this type of traffic challan count as a “criminal case pending in court”?
  • If I select “No” but police verification later shows this challan, will it affect my PCC?
  • Has anyone faced a similar situation? Did you still get a clear PCC?

Would really appreciate any guidance or personal experiences. Thanks!
