how to calm an aggressive cat permanently?
my female cat milo is going to turn 5 this year, i adopted her when she was around 4-5months old from a local foster care. she has always been shy and wary of men. she was very rowdy before we got her spayed at 2ish years. but now she's been recently (since about 8 months now) very aggressive towards me. she often bites me on my legs, arms and even my neck, and it is very aggressive, blood drawing and even leaves scars sometimes. i have always done the rational thing and yelled a loud ouch, hissed at her and left the room and entered atleast 30 minutes later. she is a loving sweet animal and i understand her boundaries, especially not wanting to be touched. but whenever she gets aggressive im usually minding my own business. she has her own vast set of toys, and even playtime.
is this ever gonna go away? i think it might be learnt behaviour because her mom was a stray, but if she was only with the parent less than an year why are these patterns continuing?
i have to wear new bandaids and first aid almost daily now and im scared to sleep because she is prone to attacking my neck at night and i dont wanna get offfed in my sleep. the neck bites get very painful and i know its an attack not play.
any tips to get her to stop? she is only comfortable with me, even cuddles and spends most of her day hovering around wherever im sitting in the house and yet attacks me.
p.s. she is fully vaxxed and has no health issues
