Kidney Failure no Dialysis
Hi Everyone,
My dad is 69 and was recently admitted into hospital for breathing issues. His kidney function came back at 12%. Yesterday his specialist said his function is at 18% because he had strong fluid medication. The specialist also said that they won’t put him on dialysis as he has heart failure and his body won’t handle it. They said treatment going forward is just for comfort. What does all this mean? Ha anyone had anything or know of anything similar? Are we looking at months for life expectancy?
Any advice or anecdotes would be appreciated -l
Regards,
One stressed out daughter
