Paid for exhaust work, but these welds look rough. Am I overreacting?

I recently had some exhaust work done on my car. The rear mufflers were replaced with valved rear mufflers, together with a modification around the mid muffler.

When I looked underneath the car afterwards, the welding immediately stood out to me. I am not a welding expert, and I know exhaust welding can be tricky depending on the material, access, fitment and wall thickness, so I do not want to jump to conclusions too quickly. But honestly, this does not look very clean or professional to me.

The welds look rough and inconsistent, with a lot of heat discoloration and uneven buildup around the joints. There also seems to be some kind of paste or sealant applied around the welds, which I find odd. I am not sure if that is normal exhaust assembly paste, a repair compound, or something used to seal or cover up poor welds.

The exhaust is fitted and seems to be in place, but I am mainly worried about durability, leaks and whether this is acceptable workmanship for paid exhaust fabrication.

For those with welding or exhaust experience: does this look acceptable, or should I go back to the shop and ask them to redo it properly?
