2026 Traverse RS Custom Exhaust

I recently purchased a 2026 Chevy Traverse RS. Everything is good, but the Exhaust is just too quiet. I've been researching custom mufflers to change the sound. Borla, Flowmaster, valvetronics, etc. Has anybody seen the results? Any videos of a 2024, 2025, or 2026 Traverse with aftermarket exhaust?

Valvetronic remote battery replacement

Hey everyone, have a question for you. I just bought a CHEAP beater and the seller casually hands me this and mentions it’s got a valvetronic exhaust/muffler installed. Apparently all I need is a battery to activate straight pipe on my $400 Subaru Baja 😂 I’ve been trying google but to no avail. What kind of battery will this take? AAAA? Photos I’m finding make it look too wide for this remote, so any advice is appreciated. All the valvetronic pages say button batteries, but I can’t imagine I’m supposed to stack like 6-8 tiny buttons in there….. anyway, TIA! Have a great day!

Sanity-check my idea for a custom exhaust

I have a 2017 hemi ram. Looking to do my first fab project. My idea is having a straight loud pipe to the rear tips, and a valve early on to have a quiet section that dumps under the truck. I have no experience welding, but I’ve ordered a flux core / mig welder that will be here soon. I plan to practice a ton before touching anything. My existing exhaust has a muffler and 2 resonators after it splits towards the rear. I plan to delete the muffler so it flows straight through to the resonators and exit when the valve is open. From the branched Y section, I’d like to have it quiet or mostly quiet for morning cold starts (I wake up at 4am and don’t want to be a bother). I understand I’ll have to freestyle the hanging / mounting but I’m not too concerned as I’ve seen some frame pieces that I can support the muffled section with. Is this possible for a first time welder?? I’m super optimistic I can do it without taking it to a shop. But I’m hoping to get some more experienced eyes on my idea. I think I’ve considered mostly everything, but someone tell me my concept isn’t impossible. Sorry the drawing isn’t to scale 😂 it’s a bit of a rough draft. Please and thanks for the help!!!

Need some advices from the community (exhaust question)

Hi,

I have since 3 months now installed a Remus Racing exhaust on my m440i.
I’m unfortunately very disappointed how it sounds actually despite spending a lot of time preparing this plan(the videos I saw usually just show a cold start and not a daily usage, so I didn’t know about the droning part)
To summary, It’s vibrating and droning a lot inside the car and outside. The sound is less heavier and clear than I thought and I don’t know how to improve that without spending a lot and starting over. To be clear it’s like talking in a pipe…

I thought about adding a new resonator or ..uninstall it, sell it and buy a new exhaust with a better sound for a daily usage but which one if so ?

Lately , I thought about the MPE version which should correspond to my taste from what I heard even if it’s little less noisy. (Around 2k€ but I need to find the correct diameter and Carbon quad tail pipe)

Do you have any tips or recommandations ? Other exhausts ? For info I’m living in France so with the OPF version still installed. I’m afraid to do a mistake again and be disappointed with 2k€ loss again minimum. I saw the valvetronic version but not really sold in EU..

Thanks in advance.

Just picked her up today. $10,250. 64k miles.

Already having to replace the battery and alternator due to starting issues. Otherwise, it drives like a dream. Lowered, brand new engine still in its breakin period, race clutch, and obviously not stock exhaust. Five speed manual. Definitely going to have to learn throttle control- driving her home, left a couple of rubber spots -_-'

Engine check light on my Interceptor 640

Sorry interceptor 650

Few days back while I was coming back to my home, it started raining heavily, and so I guess the water passed inside my Exhaust and my Exhaust turned out to be fully red, and then after reaching and riding for a few more days, I found out engine check lights popping out and also could feel the sound change through my Exhaust and the vehicle had no pick up so in the OBD scanner, it says code P0201 (cylinder 1 - injector ) and found no solution yet. I’m not understanding what to be done.

Helmholtz vs Inline Resonators

I’m looking to swap to a different exhaust setup to lower overall sound for track sound limit purposes, and would love some input.

Right now I have DC Sport shorty headers, Motordyne ART HFCs, and Motordyne Shockwave - and have recently started blowing sound.

I’m looking to retain the headers and HFCs, but switch to the Z1 Modular Resonated Y Pipe and Z1 “Race” single exit exhaust, which has an inline resonator as well as the canister muffler. So that would be three added resonators to the system.

My assumption is that the added resonators/mufflers from the Y Pipe and exhaust would quiet the setup down. But the Motordyne Shockwave Helmholtz resonators throw me for a loop. Are they very effective at sound reduction? Or more so just used for ‘tuning’ of sound?

Long story short, will the addition of two inline resonators + canister muffler single exit system be quieter than the current Shockwave system that has a muffler’d X pipe and Helmholtz resonate at each exit point?

Which axle back exhaust?

I have a 2014 3.7 q50, been looking to add some sound.

I don’t want anything super obnoxious and raspy, mostly looking for a deep tone, but louder than stock without bothering neighbors too much. Good on startups too.

Here’s what I’ve found from my research:

PLM Helmholtz: Videos suggest that this is the perfect sound that I’m looking for, but others say that it’s barely louder than stock (not what I want).

Remark: Louder than PLM, maybe a bit raspier (?) but probably louder than PLM

PLM (not resonated): Definitely raspier, more likely to drone. But louder than resonated one

Rev9 (Resonated): Seems to be the best option, balanced between not being super loud and obnoxious, but noticeably louder than stock while keeping the deep tone.

From experience, which one do yall think is best?

Fabricated a custom 3inch exhaust for our WRX

Definitely a learning experience, but honestly pretty rewarding seeing it come together.

Curious if anyone else has given this a shot?

Any fabrication tips for future builds are welcome too.

We documented the process if anyone wants to see how it turned out, I’ll can drop it in the comments.

OBX CatBack Installed on My CT200h – First Impressions (No performance expectations)

Just installed an OBX cat-back exhaust on my CT200h and wanted to share some quick thoughts for anyone curious.

First off—this wasn’t about performance at all. I know this platform isn’t built for that, and I wasn’t expecting any gains. I just wanted something a little louder than stock to make the daily a bit more enjoyable.

So far, I’m actually pretty happy with it. The sound is deeper than stock and gives the car a nicer tone without being over the top. One of my biggest concerns going in was drone, but I’m not experiencing any so far, which is a huge plus.

Build quality seems solid for the price, and overall it feels like a good value. The only thing I’m still getting used to is the center-exit tip design—it sits right in the middle, kind of like the newer Civics. Didn’t love it at first, but it’s slowly growing on me.

For reference, the video attached is just the car parked and idling at light revs around 1,200 RPM to give an idea of the sound. I’ve only put about 40 miles on it so far, so I’m curious if the tone will deepen a bit over time. Also, excuse the transmission input damper noise in the clip.

Overall, I’d rate it around a 7.5–8/10 for what I was looking for. If you just want a slightly better sound without making the car obnoxious, this seems like a solid option.

8Y RS3 Owners in California - AWE Switchpath Exhaust

Any RS3 owners in CA have the AWE Switchpath exhaust installed? Any issues with passing smog checks or check engine lights? Ive been debating if I should upgrade my stock exhaust and kind of leaning towards the AWE, but would like to learn about any issues youve come across, if any.

Need muffler advice for 2018 EcoBoost Mustang

I currently have an MBRP Street exhaust on my 2018 EcoBoost Mustang. I want the car a little louder and want more cabin presence/vibration under throttle, but I really don’t want it to become raspy.

I was considering Flowmaster Super 10s but I’ve heard they can sound rough on the EcoBoost.

Has anyone tried them, or have recommendations for mufflers that stay deep but still make the car feel more aggressive?

Mid muffler delete vs rear 4 resonator delete

I have a 2016 Dodge Charger R/T and I’m trying to make it louder. Should I do a mid muffler delete or a resonator delete? I’ve had two different shops tell me different things. Also, if anyone has recommendations besides deletes, I’d like to hear them.

What do I need to start an exhaust business?

I’m 18 years old and I’ve always been interested in cars, my friends are all in the automotive business like car wrapping and tinting, detailing, kit sourcing and installations, etc.

I’ve been looking into doing exhausts like mufflers, full exhaust systems, dpf removals, etc.

Could someone who js in this line of work tell me what experience I would need and what apparatus will be required for this. Could I start with some tools and then progress into doing more,(e.g coulr j start with a basic welder doing rear mufflers and then in later stages buy a pipe bender to do fully custom builds?).

As far as experience I have the basic tools knowledge and a basic idea of how the exhaust systems work, but I’m looking into doing a TIG welding course later this year.

Any advice is appreciated.
