r/Exhaust

Does anybody have any thoughts on what this exhaust setup could be?

Was driving down the freeway and saw this crispy genesis coupe that sounded smooth and raspy (perfect imo) does anyone have any thoughts on how he achieved this sound?

Ford focus st 2021 xforce varex muffler

Hi forum ,

I own a Ford Focus ST 2021 automatic in Sydney Australia. I had removed the secondary cat. It sounded great in sports mode but had lot of drone noise so i installed a xforce varex muffler axel back and reinstalled the secondary cat. I am experiencing some minor vibrations in cabin and drone as well. Im planning to remove the cat as it is not producing any pops or bang. How can i reduce the drone noise and vibrations with cat removed ? Doez sound deadning work or vibrant quiet noise resonator ? I want to keep the pops in sports mode but also want it to be quiet at the rear seat.

Need a replacement exhaust for my TVS Ntorq 125

I'm tired of its exhaust making rattling sound since the day I bought it 4 years ago, showed it to the service centre multipless of times but nothing came up about the sound, I finally realised the sound is from the exhaust and now the service centre says a new exhaust can go upto 18-20k. I just can't afford it, tell me where I can find an aftermarket one for it so that I can get my fav scooter back on road 😭😭

How to get rid of cabin drone

Any help would be appreciated. I currently have e catless down pipe, vibrant 17950 paired with a ecs muffler delete. Sounds good, nice tone when taking off slowly but nearing 3000 rpm the cabin drone is not great. Thought about adding a tail end muffler but not sure of the position and what one to use. Has anybody done something similar to this?

Exhaust Ideas

I drive a 2008 Dodge Nitro R/T. It has the 4.0 V6 that could also be found in a Dodge Caravan. For simplicity’s sake I request ideas for executing a ludicrous idea to do a true dual side exit exhaust on this Ship of Theseus I call my daily. If you don’t believe it would sound good I’d love it if you could find this motor with a true dual exhaust.
I seek not to make terrible noise but sweet music.
Just tell me what works best in your head. I’m all ears. I’m hopeful that there’s more to chew.

2023 BMW 330i G20 Exhaust

I recently did a muffler and resonator delete but it will only pop and bang/burble on a cold start, it is only louder when driving and revving later on after a cold start. I want it to pop and bang/burble while driving and just in general revving after a cold start. Why does it do this? I thought maybe the deletes weren’t enough and I possibly have to get a down-pipe + tune. Is it just my car? 😅

Painted inside

Used vht flameproof spray paint. The tips were made in a weird way where one was bend around and the other was a straight pipe. Made the outer exit look fake and the exhaust look cheap

Leaking Z1 gaskets immediately after replacing

I had an exhaust leak, from downpipe to Y pipe. I had shitty gaskets before. I bought the metal z1 gasket set, and only a couple days after installing it’s leaking again. I just got tuned aswell. Started mid dyno.

Any fix for this? Slap RTV around it and call it a day? Or what should I do. Haven’t been able to check exactly where the leak is coming from but i’m assuming the same area. Thanks

IS500 exhuast

Just recently bought is500 first thing i did was get full body PPF and full ceramic tinits. Driving the car it felt really quit until I drove it in sport + mode and by the time I hear some noise I am already going over speed limit I bought the dry air intake filter drop in which helped a little . I also ordered apexi resonated mid pipe waiting for it to arrive later this month but was wondering should I go with the apexi axle back exhust as well ?

4.6 Triton Exhaust

Hey I have a 2005 4.6 triton f1150 that i really want to modify the exhaust without spending over $250 dollars on it. What is the best way i can do this myself so it pulls a better "v8" noise and sounds more throaty?

Rattle/jingle/drag

Just today my 91’ sw20 turbo mr2 started making a metal-on- asphalt dragging sound at speed, and to begin with it would persist at idle, it has now stopped doing that. It happens the same if not just a tiny bit louder depending on speed, and goes away intermittently then comes back?
Please help 🙏
Just took the car in to change the exhaust bracket since I had a rattle and stripped the bolt, but that rattle sounded very different so I’m confused if maybe this one just has less play and therefore rattles quicker or something? My other idea was rear brakes because one side is a little looser with the handbrake engaged. I’ve been meaning to replace them anyway.
(Nothing dangling under the car) exhaust still touches cross member but that was making a different kind of rattle before I replaced the hanger)

gsxr 750 exhaust

im picking up a 2026 gsxr 750 from dealership soon, and wanna put a pipe on it. now a short slip on will still not be as loud due to the catalytic converter still being there or whatever, i wanna know if a full system exhaust is the only way to get rid of all restrictions. how can i make it as loud as possible without straight piping it, i dont wanna throw a full system but i wanna know if maybe a slip on with a mid link pipe will get rid of the restrictins and make it louder, and if so what company is the best for this bike, thank you guys

P.S im not a dick going around revving it up everywhere i ride mostly highways and strongly beleive loud pipes save lives. people always changes lanes without looking and when you hear a loud noise/vehicle near you people always check their mirros. they dont always see you coming but if they can hear you its better. anyways any advice is greatly appreciated!

Can anyone tell me whats the point?

Why do ppl by 600-1000$ exhaust for non si civic? When ppl see loud car and turn around, oh it's civic and those who knows car will actually laugh that you made non si civic loud.

I just don't get it what's the point? Who are they trying to impress with loud exhaust on economical civic model.

1996 F-150 5.0 Exhaust

We recently rebuilt the engine in this truck, and the old exhaust was pretty much trash. I’m trying to figure out the quickest and cheapest way to get it back on the road while I save up to have a complete exhaust system installed.
We’re basically starting from the exhaust manifolds back. The driver-side manifold (first picture) is supposed to come down toward the passenger side and route between the oil pan and bellhousing, similar to the factory setup.
The problem is I can’t really drive the truck to an exhaust shop with open manifolds because I’m worried about the heat damaging wiring, hoses, etc. underneath the truck. The shops I’ve called want the truck there to fabricate everything.
I already have two Flowmaster Super 40s with 2.5” inlets that I’d like to use. I’m not looking for anything pretty or permanent right now—just something safe and functional that will get the exhaust back past the cab so I can drive the truck while I save for the permanent system.
What would be the easiest/cheapest way to build a temporary exhaust from the manifolds back? Has anyone mocked up the headpipes themselves and had an exhaust shop bend them from measurements or a wire template?
