Mga buwan ang lumipas bago ngayon, tinanong ako ni Papa,

"Nak, ano gusto mong luto sa manok? Gusto mo ba itola (i-tola) ko na lang?"

Dito ako lumaki sa K. Maynila, at first time ko marinig yung pandiwa na itola.

Tapos, doon nag-sink in sa akin na ang tinola ay hindi talaga originally ang pangalan ng ulam.

Yun pala, 'yon ang paraan ng pagluluto! Tinola yung karne.

Kumbaga, tola ang salitang-ugat.

Halimbawa, "Magtotola ako ng manok."
"Itotola ko na ba o mamaya na?"

Nag-search ako sa Internet kung ano nga ba ang ibig sabihin ng tola kasi hindi siya madalas gamitin dito sa K. Maynila.

Bali, ang salitang tola pala ay ginagamit sa Sebwano, Hiligaynon, at Tausug (tiula) na puwedeng ibig sabihin ay pakuluan ang sangkap kapag pandiwa o sabaw kapag pangngalan.

So, isa pang TIL, ang Nilaga at Tinola ay iisa—well semantically. Pero siyempre, dahil sa aspektong kultural, may sari-sarili na silang distinction.

Kaya hindi na para dapat pag-debatehan pa kung ano ba talaga ang nilalagay sa Tinola, kung papaya ba o sayote.

Basta pakuluan mo ang manok at iba pang rekados,

Tinola pa rin 'yan!

Just when we thought that scalping, buyouts, and future pricing were the biggest jokes in the Pokémon community, now greedy losers are "pumping" bulks and IRs because of cameos and the "hidden" Pikachu.

Seriously. We're in the Loser Epidemic.

We have losers who are allergic to jobs, are scalping products, and are convincing people to make their cards as "valuable" as they are in their favor.

We also have the other losers who enable this kind of foolery. The people who could not discipline themselves into buying from scalpers and who could not overcome FOMO.

This was once a hobby for everyone.

Now, these losers are forcing the "inevitable."
No, it's not inevitable. We need to stop this.
We need to work together to claim this hobby as ours again.

If you say, "well you're just saying that because you can't afford it," or "this hobby isn't for you,"

just don't forget to put back the jeans where they belong after sucking theirs.
