After at least 20 years, I finally found it!

Back in 2000, I was at a cards and comics shop with my mom. I saw this Charizard in the glass case for $50. I asked her if that was something I could have for my 5th birthday. It was quite an exciting birthday present as you can imagine.

Well, fast forward some years, and Pokemon became “uncool”, so my collection sat in a box somewhere (not in toploaders or sleeves 😂). Around 10 years ago now, I saw some crazy numbers being thrown around for a base set Charizard, and immediately called my dad to tell him to keep an eye out for my old collection, because this was in it. He searched the attic, and I went to his house a few times to look around for it, but could never seem to find it. Just a few weeks ago, he sent me a picture of a ziploc sandwich bag with some loose cards in it, and I didn’t really think too much of it, as we had already had some false alarms with other cards of my little brothers being found here and there over the years.

This week, I was at his house for dinner, and my nephew found the ziploc bag and asked if he could play with my Pokemon cards. I said “of course” and he went off to the living room to get them out. My girlfriend joked and said “what if that Charizard is in there?” I thought there was an extremely slim chance, but thought “well I might as well check just in case”. I went into the living room with my nephew, and pulled the stack of cards out of the bag, and THIS was the second card I flipped over. I was ecstatic. I immediately called my dad over and showed him, and we celebrated for a bit. I took the few holo cards from the bag and put them in a safe place until it was time to leave. Once I got home to examine them, I had a wild realization that this base set Charizard was shadowless. Nuts!

The Charizard unfortunately isn’t in the greatest condition, it has some pretty significant edge wear, and a relatively large bend crease on the back, but it’s still so cool and nostalgic to look at it after years of searching.

This is by far the craziest Pokemon TCG story I have to share in my lifetime, so I figured I would share it here for anyone interested enough to read about it!

My bf who knows nothing about Pokemon tcg bought me this

He recently got me this, I’m not sure where he found it, but he said it costed 10 bucks.

I felt so bad to tell him that it was fake 😢 but we laughed it off and I also taught him how to differentiate between fake and real

Don’t get scammed guys lol

Not my chase but I’ll take it!!

Not going to go hard ripping this set, i have 1 etb coming and thats going to be it for me. So many people act like they “must” have everything, pretty sure they’re compensating for something else.

Currently the most beautiful card in my collection. Pictures do no justice.

Pulled this last week. Just started collecting three months ago (most expensive card I have ever pulled too). I don’t plan to grade anything. Just doing it for the artwork!

Coworker pulled a "God Pack" at Work

He is very happy, he said it's worth a lot of money

Edit: Context pasted below

It was lunch time, I'll set the scene. Pretty much my supervisor who bought the packs in a box came up to me and 2 of my other coworkers who were chatting with 4 unopened packs and offered to let us open them all together at the same time in a "pack battle" (I'm not too familiar with Pokémon so I declined respectfully).

My supervisor and the other 2 coworkers, both of which are also collectors, started opening the packs and one of those coworkers went silent and their hands started shaking while they started noticeably handling the cards with extreme care. I inquired what was wrong and he said "Dude this is a God Pack".

Queue my supervisor and the other coworker starting to flip out. It took me about a full minute to get up to speed on how rare this occurrence was and it was the talk of the office for the rest of the day with visitors coming from other departments to see it for themselves.

My supervisor instantly offered to split the pull with said coworker who opened the pack, but after the actual potential value of these cards was found out, that coworker decided it was best that our supervisor keep all the cards except for a couple of the less valuable ones. Honestly a really cool moment of humility and generosity all in one.

FYI: There are NO promo cards being given away at the Fossil Museum.

Just wrapped up seeing the exhibit. For anyone wondering if they have promo cards for the event, I’ll save you the headache: NO.

Also, you need a voucher to visit the pop-up store that is given only at the end of the museum, and 5 item limit.

Good on The Field for making this as seamless of an experience as possible.

Local Walmart is now stocking on random days and times because someone followed the restocker home

Pretty much the title. Checked in this morning to see if they had any cards and asked when they normally restock, and the lady at the register said they now do it randomly and only the manager puts cards out, because someone followed the delivery driver home one day. For safety the restock is now random.

Edit to clarify that I agree this is good. Every place should stock randomly and at retail price. Just sharing because people are getting wild out there.

Picked up some cheap singles from my local shop today and noticed a background Pikachu when I got home

my favorite cards i have as a new collector!

i havent been able to buy an actual pack yet because my area seems to have a scalper problem, but i dont really mind because i like shopping at smaller game stores and picking the single cards out myself because theyre cheap and i love the cute ones!! im a little embarrassed about collecting solely based on the ones i like and not knowing anything about value cause i feel “fake” so haha please dont make fun of me if these are lame 😭

Local Walmart accidentally stocked Chaos Rising

Went to grab some dinner and stopped by the cards to see what they had today. Boy was I surprised! They had the container full of single and triple pack blisters. Plus 2 of the premium collections for mega zygarde ex, one of which went home with me. I grabbed 2 of each blister packs as well. A guy behind me grabbed a couple as well.

When I was checking out I noticed an employee talking to him as he checked them out. I had to go back for a return and thought why not grab one more pack. Nope, they took all of the remaining Pokemon products off of the shelf. Even a few tins that weren’t for Chaos Rising, but its also likely someone else bought the few available. Although, I don’t think the blister packs sold out rather than being pulled.

Anyways, here’s some of my pulls. I was pretty happy getting a 3 Ex cards from a total of 8 packs.

Aya Kusube Full Collection Post

This is my final appreciation post before I sell off my Aya Kusube cards to TCGplayer (I’m keeping the first page)

After seeing the prices go up on everything, I want to sell off these cards for money which saddens me but end of the day it’s just cardboard.

Hope you appreciate this collection as much as I do.

How many cards in your collection discussion

Not including sealed product, how many singles both raw and slabbed do you have in your collection? How many more are you trying to acquire? Do you collect just the pokemon themselves or trainer / energy cards are well? How many of each?

Mega Darkrai in BWR style would have slapped for Pitch Black

Yes I used Gemini to mock it up, it’s just a bit of fun. I actually really like the gold MUR cards but I think a “pitch black” version could have been so cool and a really complimentary card alongside the Erika Egawa SAR.

These will be featured in the English version, Pitch Black, releasing 17th July.

They are all looking very clean
