I'm writing my bachelors thesis about intertextuality in a novel and I came across the phrase "Ha-ha, Blueser. Your mission objective's in another castle." (The character referenced here is named Blue, hence the pun) At first I thought the first bit was a reference to the Simpsons, or more specifically, Nelson saying "haha loser" but upon further research, he just says "ha ha" and now I am lost. The second part is a reference to an early Mario game, so I was wondering could the first part also be a reference to that? Like a play on the word Bowser? I don't really know a lot about Mario or the games as a whole so I'd appreciate any and all help! :)
