Kitsilano area input
Hello, my family and I are moving to Vancouver this summer and trying to decide between two rental options in Kitsilano.
One is a newer condo in the heart of Kitsilano, close to West 4th and within walking distance of cafés, restaurants, parks, and transit. It’s smaller, but we love the idea of being able to walk almost everywhere. Our son would likely attend General Gordon Elementary School.
The other is a larger detached home near Almond Park, with Bayview Community Elementary School as the catchment school.
We’re wondering how different these two areas feel in terms of walkability, community, and overall vibe, and whether anyone has experience with General Gordon versus Bayview.
We have an 8 yo old, so the school environment and neighborhood feel are both really important to us.
Would love to hear any thoughts from locals who know these areas.
