Amberola V Case Refinish (WIP)

This is by far the most extensive refinish job I’ve done. Two of the side panels were toast, so they had to be removed and re-veneered. (Sourcing the right species of mahogany and grain structure was a pain). Everything has been stripped and sanded down to bare wood for a more even color coat.

I’m using water diluted TransTint “red mahogany” dye to color match to the underside of the lid. I went with dye instead of stain to highlight the “striped” look of the veneer. The current plan is to use a shellac finish after pore filling the wood.
