I had been under the impression that the detent pin on the DCF892 should make sockets quite secure (to the point of being a pain in the butt to get off) but seems like I a have the same exact opposite. Even lining up the detent pin with the hole on the socket you can just flick the socket off (more of a problem on flip sockets and stuff that is heavier). Yes I know these are cheap harbor freight impact sockets, but they hold nicely on my other 1/2 stuff like my torque wrench.

Can anyone confirm if this is normal? Or did I get a dud? If I don’t line up the detent pin with the hole they literally just fall straight off
