Dewalt orbital sander issues

I recently bought a Dewalt orbital sander from Acme tools. Used it for the first time today. While sanding, I noticed that it was only removing most of the material within the middle third of the 5” surface. The first picture shows what it looks like on a scrap piece of wood in two passes. When looking at the backing pad there is a noticeable bump in the center of the pad. This is causing the uneven sanding I would assume. The third picture is to show the dust accumulation in the center of the pad.

Has anyone encountered this before? How would I fix this? Or do I need to send this back for replacement?

DeWalt vs Milwaukee Landscaping Tools

I have around 6 DeWalt tools and batteries. Landscaping tool wise, I only have the DeWalt battery powered backpack sprayer and a leaf blower. I am purchasing the Milwaukee rotary scissors and edger because DeWalt doesn't offer rotary scissors and their edger just isn't as good.

After some research, I realized Milwaukee would have better designed and longer lasting landscaping tools than DeWalt. The DeWalt battery powered mower seemed like a stretch for the company in my opinion. Yet, people blew their hard earned money on it anyways.

I am not sure why, but the Milwaukee tool subreddit is overflowing with EGO bots or shills. Everyone told me to buy EGO. EGO landscaping tools look like toys to me. I have only seen one neighbor use EGO on my street. I don't use YouTube to make purchasing decisions. But a lawn care guy I see on YouTube who is a scammer and has no clue what he's doing always cycles between Worx, Badger, and EGO. I guess it's whomever will give him free stuff.

It's really odd to me that the reviews on Lowe's for EGO products either say "incentivized" or there are "people" who left 5 stars without typing a single word. It's really odd behavior. In comparison, Milwaukee landscaping tools have more genuine reviews on Home Depot's website.

I had looked at Stihl. But I don't want to deal with Ace Hardware. You can't just order whatever you want and have the items delivered. You actually have to deal with Ace Hardware. Home Depot is 4 minutes from my house. It's literally down the street from where I live. In my opinion, you cannot beat their return policy. I read somewhere that Lowe's and EGO have disputes with each other over certain returns.

HEPA filter on stealth sonic vac?

I need a HEPA (or at least close to HEPA) dust extractor for an upcoming job in a restaurant which will be open in the evenings the days I’m working in the mornings sanding/refinishing. I want to do it on a super tight budget so I can stack a little extra paper. Anyone have any experience putting a hepA filter on a dewalt stealth sonic vacuum? I’m looking at the 16 gal 5php specifically. Just wondering if a hepA filter would either

A. Over stress the motor

Or

B. Make it hella louder (not a dealbreaker but kinda defeats the purpose of paying extra for a quiet vacuum)

Thanks for any insight!

Trying to find replacement screw for angle grinder housing-- after tracking down the part #, it is an "M4" type screw, yet all the M4s at my Ace Hardware dont seem to fit it and dont engage the threads?

I was just curious if Dewalt OEM screws are proprietary? Or am I missing something here? This is the screw:

dwb-n297219 (Screw Shoulder M4)

THanks for any insight.

Not sure which fan to get, has anyone used the kobalt one?

I only have one 4amp kobalt battery and 8 dewalt batteries. I am undecided on which fan I should get.

Anyone found a Kobalt to Dewalt battery adapter that will allow the use of 20V Dewalt batteries in the Kobalt misting fan?

Couple of 4ah 20v batteries $65.99

just a heads up. there was 5 available. I bought one pack so 4 left. it's a solid price for 2 batteries. free shipping but might be a minimum $74 or $99 so may need to buy a second set to take advantage of that. yes it says refurbished but I guarantee you they will look 99-100% new. They are an OEM dealer. I have bought thousands of $ of refurbished tools from CPO and it's good stuff but often missing the box. CPO has deal code 15OFF175 going for 15% off but it's only on select items and this isn't one Unfortunately. probably won't last long at $8 per Amp hour.

Assault Drill

Took advantage of a recent Home Depot Deal; Buy a 9 Amp Flexvolt battery, pick a tool. I needed this guy to drill a 4inch hoie through stucco... Just in time for my birthday.

Better Hammer Drill?

Best hammer drill between the two? Both are very close in price and need one eventually for side jobs to do at some point

Are DeWalt Car Jumpstarter Adapters Safe to Use?

The DeWalt jump starter adapter for 20V Battery even comes with a 30/60 amp fuse for safety, but critics say that the 8AWG wire isn't thick enough for starter cranking. But DeWalt itself recommends accessory jumpstart cables. Is such an adapter safe to use for jumpstarting a car? Thanks.

Can we get some more tools in action please? It's starting to feel like Groundhog Day around here. Needed to access the top of the fuel tank. Didn't want to drop it. Did a bed tilt.

Which one should I keep DCF512B or DCF503B or both?

The 512B cost $88.85 and the 503B cost $86.93. Auto working is probably the skill utilizing power tools that I am least comfortable with.

I will say that I'm not wild about the 1/2" anvil on the 512B, but I've read that it can be changed out.

As for the 12v line, I've got a few 12v tools now and my justification is I have a few things like a light and radio that are 12/20/60, and the 12v drill is a nice change of pace over my 1007. I always grab the 12v impact over my 860. Something about that 12v impact when it drills is a thing of beauty. It's like hypnotizing in a good way if that even makes sense. It's not too late to back out of the 12v ecosystem altogether (still within my 90 days), but I've gotten some seriously good deals on the 12v tools that I have.

Any chance this is legit?

Found this weed eater on FB marketplace near me, but it’s listed well under market value. This guy has a bunch of other dewalt stuff for sale under market value as well so it seems sketchy. I own a few dewalt things, but I’m not well versed on what to look for when it comes out knock offs or counterfeits.
