The Tension Between Drivers Cyclists and Pedestrians Is Exhausting

I was walking downtown yesterday and saw a cyclist blow through a stop sign. I politely reminded them that cyclists are supposed to stop at stop signs too. Instead of moving on they started calling me every name imaginable and sarcastically said “Give me a ticket.”
I do not understand why it is so hard for everyone sharing the road drivers cyclists and pedestrians to follow the same basic rules. The constant tension and entitlement from all sides is exhausting. We all complain about safety and respect on the roads but that only works if everyone is held to the same standard.

Edit: Thanks everyone who contributed. Overall, it doesn’t seem like anyone particularly cares, so we’ll just FAAFO I guess? 🫣
