Advice needed: Hospital jobs for an int'l nursing student

I’m an international student from South Korea, currently on a leave of absence after finishing my 3rd year of nursing school. I’m living in Downtown Vancouver with a valid work permit, and my ultimate dream is to become an OR nurse in North America in the future.

I have completed the third year of a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, accumulating over 500 hours of clinical practicum experience across various specialties, including Medical-Surgical, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, and Community Health nursing. Additionally, I hold a valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.

To get my foot in the door and experience the Canadian healthcare system firsthand, I would love to work in a hospital or clinical setting. My main hurdle is I don’t have a BC Care Aide registry or official Canadian healthcare certificates yet.
I’m currently looking at entry-level roles like Hospital Porter, Environmental Services (Housekeeping Aide), Dietary Aide, or Clinic Assistant.
Any advice, reality checks, or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much in advance for your time.
