Want to resolve. My curls used to look way better — what happened?
I seriously need help figuring out a proper routine for my curls because my hair used to look way better than it does now.
My old hair had really defined curls with almost no frizz. Back then I used Davroe Curl Creme Definer, and it worked perfectly. It would create a slight crunch/cast while drying, then once I scrunched it out my curls would look super defined, soft, and actually curly. Now it barely does anything for my hair. I don’t know if my hair changed over time or if my current routine is causing problems.
Current routine:
- Davroe Anti-Frizz Shampoo every fortnight
- Davroe Anti-Frizz Conditioner about once a week
- CURLiCUE Curl Activator spray
- Davroe CURLiCUE Curl Gel
- been using a Davroe Protein Treatment treatment/product for a 2 weeks

The CURLiCUE products were recommended to me in-store for frizz control and curl definition. They help slightly, but nowhere near how my hair used to look. Comparing old vs new photos, the difference is pretty noticeable.
The weird thing is my hair actually looks really good when it’s soaking wet straight out of the shower. Even after applying products while it’s still damp, the curls look defined and healthy. But once it fully dries, the curls separate, puff up, and become frizzy. Instead of defined curls, it now just looks fluffy with random curls throughout.
The protein product also seems to make my hair look better while wet, but once dry it still doesn’t hold the same way it used to.
I honestly miss how my old hair looked because the curls were way tighter, more defined, and overall healthier-looking. Now it feels like I’m trying multiple products but getting worse results.
