Bad Luck...🥀
People say luck matters a lot in placements, and after what happened with me on 21 May during the Cognizant Digital Nurture 5.0 communication round, I honestly understand why . 😔 They recommended using wired earphones for the assessment, and since I didn’t have any, I specially ordered boAt wired earphones and tested them before the exam. Everything was working perfectly. The assessment started smoothly and the first 10 minutes went well with speaking prompts where we had to read words shown on the screen. Then came the listening section and suddenly there was no audio in my earphones. I panicked, unplugged and replugged them multiple times, checked settings, and tried everything possible, but nothing worked . I thought it was a technical glitch, so I skipped those questions.
Then came the listening comprehension section, and by that point I was completely stressed. I randomly selected answers just to finish the test, hoping maybe I would get another chance later. After the assessment ended, I realized what had actually happened. My Bluetooth earbuds, which were lying on the same table, had automatically connected to the laptop. That one small thing ruined my entire assessment.
I am not upset only because I might get eliminated in this round, but because it feels like all the hard work I put in got wasted because of something so unexpected. This is definitely one incident I will remember throughout the entire placement season. 🙂
